Sounds like Wade Phillips is heading to LA...

Bill Musgrave could be Broncos OC if Mike McCoy chooses the Bills...

Regardless of what many think of Musgrave, it'd be better to not have him in the division. Hope he takes the Cal job.

Is Musgrave bitter?

We still have Carr so it's whatever, but I wonder what Norv is doing, I love his down field passing concepts.

Report floating around that we actually reached out to wade Phillips for a role on the staff

Would love this, but let's be real. He's a DC and will be hired by a team to be one.

However, if they could get him on staff for his insight and to help develop KNJ that would be awesome. And you have someone to take over if KNJ stumbles early.

Wade will be 70. He's no spring chicken

I deal situation. Having Wade as a consultant would be huge

Not gonna happen. He is one of the better DC's in the entire league and there are numerous DC openings right now. I could see him maybe taking the DC here if he doesn't stay in Denver, but no way does he take a back seat and play the consulting role. He could, and will, do much better than that.

You never know. Wade could be looking to slow down at his age. Just a thought. None of us have any idea. This could be exactly what he is looking to do or exactly what he doesn't want. Time will tell what he wants because he is the next shoe to drop in for many teams.

exactly

wouldn't be worried about Musgrave one bit. Especially with Trevor Siemien at QB

Our coaches will know the offense to and hopefully know how to shut it down

We don't know Sieman will be the QB and Musgrave changed the offense he normally runs a lot for Derek Carr and our personal's skills. Not saying that the teams won't be familialr with each other but the advantage that Musgrave can bring to a team from knowing Carr is more than the advantage that we'll get from knowing Musgrave. Not even saying that it's a huge deal either but exactly what I said, that I'd rather he not be in the division.

Any word on new QB coach or DB coach?

Ray Horton is out there if he doesn't find a DC job.

For DB coach the obvious first two suggestions both possess the last name Woodson. I know Nosdoom probably isn't leaving his TV gig but Rod is already the assistant DB. He could easily be promoted.

Ricky Manning Jr is currently the Seahawks assistant DB coach and played for UCLA and played one year with the Raider in 2009. Could swipe him with KNJ also being a former Bruin and Seahawk coach.

Tim McDonald is currently the Bills DB coach in Buffalo and I'm not sure if he has been retained but he is a Cali Guy as well, played for USC at the same time as JDR and then played for the Niners for 6 yrs. He has been coaching DBs in the pros since 2013. Would be a good get IMO. He is also the father of Tevin McDonald.

For QB coach we could promote Jake Peetz, as he is the assistant QB coach currently.

Also a name to think about is David Carr. Derek has been learning from him for years anyways. Might as well pay him for it.

He makes a lot of sense with all his connections to our coaching staff.

Oakland Raiders: Assistant quarterbacks coach Jake Peetz will be promoted to quarterbacks coach, according to The MMQBs Albert Breer. Previous quarterbacks coach Todd Downing was moved up to offensive coordinator. Peetz has been with the Raiders for two years.

Logical promotion to me...

As long as Downing calls a screen and outside run once in awhile I'll be happy.

That's what I figured would happen. Wonder if they'll bring in another offensive assistant?

The fact we haven't re-signed Tice right away makes me feel not so hot. There's no way we pull a Denver and let one of the better coaches at their trade walk away... right?
