Eric Decker might get released. Coming off surgery. I think it would be worth a try.

If he becomes available, we'd have to at least take a long look. He checks off a lot of on our list... he runs great routes, has good hands, good size, good quickness, is apparently a great blocker as a receiver...

He's not really a #1, but he seems to be an ideal fit on this offense. He'd give us two very good and reliable #2s, and would help open up the field more for Mariota.

If the Jets are willing to cut him, I'd even be willing to offer a late pick to prevent him from hitting the market.

Speaking of trades, I'd be pestering the Eagles to see what they want for Matthews. Maybe couple it with Kendricks... take care of two spots...

Yes on Decker, no on Matthews. I thought Matthews was going to be a 90+ catch a year guy, but man has he been disappointing. Slow and inconsistent.

Decker, if healthy, would be a real nice addition to our team. He's a fringe #1 guy...I wouldn't be too concerned if our Week 1 starting WRs were Decker/Matthews/Sharpe

edit -- to add (and kind of build on my thoughts on Matthews), we need speed more than anything on offense. Having a guy that can stretch defenses and take a screen 20+ yards in a blink would do WONDERS. When our offense was focusing on Wright, we could have hung 30+ up on just about anyone, because we were utilizing the quick speed that we don't get out of Matthews/Sharpe. The guy doesn't even need to be a major focal point of the O...just someone to add that missing dimension.

Decker wouldn't provide that, but a proven, successful vet like him isn't going to hurt us.

yup. it's why i'd be open to john ross and was on board with acquiring cooks. we need speed on offense in the worst way. think about the fact that mariota is our fastest player. Laughing

Coty Sensabaugh signs with Pittsburgh and now former Titan Valentino Blake signs with the Giants. Still shocked to see Logan Ryan is the only FA CB signed but I know we'll draft a few

Good. That just means there's no chance we can sign them. We just got better with Blake signing elsewhere. Id rather have a late round rookie play over Valentino Blake.

Another little tidbit to add to the Eric Decker conversation is that he already lives here. He's married to a country singer. I'm sure if he was cut, and we showed interest, we'd probably be his top destination.

Quote:

Free agent OL Tim Lelito is visiting the Titans on Wednesday.
Lelito previously visited the Lions last week. He has experience playing center, guard, and tackle at the NFL level and would be a very versatile reserve and capable starter in a pinch for any team. Lelito started 13 games at left guard in 2015, receiving really strong marks for his run blocking from Pro Football Focus. It's somewhat surprising the 26-year-old hasn't drawn more looks.

#Titans signed G Tim Lelito, according to his agents.

And Schwenke's replacement has been signed.

Looks like there will be some competition for a guard spot. I assume Spain is mostly safe given how well he played and his steady improvement over the course of the season, but Kline's job is probably in jeopardy.

Quote:
The Titans are expecting Sebastian Tretola to compete.

In his second year, can Tretola unseat one of the Titans starting guards -- Quinton Spain or Josh Kline?

"I hope so, that's why he's here," Mularkey. "He should be (ready), he's capable of challenging. It's really up to him."

Spain was better than Kline in 2016.

Mularkey also spoke as if newcomer Tim Lelito can challenge for an interior line spot, though this looks like Brian Schwenke's replacement.

Lelito might also have a great camp battle with third-tackle Dennis Kelly for work as a tight end in a jumbo package.

Love the reemergence of our Oline. We even have some depth (interior) now and can compete and put the better man out there.

.@Titans agree to terms with former @ChicagoBears CB Demontre Hurst (@Trey_Zero).

And here I was, worried about our pass defense. Laughing

Thought I'd share some off season news about Delanie Walker with everyone. I'm currently deployed to an undisclosed location and got to meet him during a USO tour stop at my base. Awesome guy. Bigger then you think. Got a shirt signed and a picture with him. I can't figure out how to post the picture from my phone though.
