You have to see this. History. Look it up yourself.
Cool

Lame show IMO. Amazing production and setting and all that stuff, absolute fluff characters that bored me to death, the cops especially.

Basically feels like the show creators were like, "Lets make a show about the drug trade that's cool af, everyone loves anything about the drug trade. Easy money boys!"

I think I gave up after 3 episodes.

They were based off those 2 real cops.. How the hunt for pablo happened thru their eyes.

The conflicting agendas of DEA, Pentagon and CIA, enabling the Colombian drug trade is brilliant. Pablo Escobar is portrayed very well. A bit of a business genius, robin hood, Al Capone character.
It was the murder of a Colombian soccer player from the 1994 WC in the USA that triggered his downfall. Idea

No.. That player dying didn't have anything to do with it. It was the metric tons of coke coming in.. And the USA wanting to govern it.

If you watch Sicario(movie) it ties to this.

The actor playing Escobar is quite good. It would be easy to play him as Al Capone or Scarface. Idea

If you made a judgement call after three episodes, then you've missed out.

I would like to see a spin-off type season - focus on Griselda Blanco and the cocaine cowboys in 1980s Miami. That was a bloody warzone back then.

The messaging about conflicting American politics is accurate. The depictions of agents in the field seems real. Idea
