He absolutely bungled that question. I have to hope that's not actually his stance, but to be so unprepared for the question... He was kinda stuttering and going off the cuff it seemed like when you actually watch it. Just mind boggling.

I didn't like the pick when it happened. Now, I'm mostly on board with it.

Since the draft Caldwell and Coughlin have made comments about doing their homework on the player and the person and were comfortable that his issues were in his past.

He and Greene should have an interesting PR battle in camp.

While most of us envision him in the slot, it may be a while before he plays there. Marrone laid out his system for evaluating WRs in a recent presser. In that system - receivers without slot experience (Westbrook has none) will learn both outside positions first. Then they will get looks in the slot.
So - that may happen in July or August. It may happen in 2018. Who knows. It depends on how quickly he learns the other spots/routes.

I know one thing. With a FB and Fournette in the backfield, having Lee and Westbrook lined up at receiver should help keep defenses from stacking the box. That's too much speed to ignore. Especially if Westbrook shows the ability to beat press coverage at the L.O.S.

I mean, realistically...if they do use 21 personnel with a FB and the whole shebang as often as it sounds like they may want to...There's probably going to be quite a few snaps that simply don't have a slot receiver. So in that sense, with Lee already expected to take the bulk of those opportunities there are (if he actually stays healthy again Laughing ), Greene and Westbrook probably aren't going to have many snaps to even compete for unless there's an injury.

Yea thats what i'm thinking. Robinson/Hurns on the field full time, don't really have a TE and then Lee/Greene/Westbrook are there plus our new shiny FB.

Nothing for me has changed for me with Dede

Yeah. Even when there is a slot there. But the way they've talked about the ground game, i wouldn't be surprised if there was at least one TE out there a lot of the time...even though we don't necessarily have a real pass catcher specialist anymore. Get some more beef out front of the new feature of our offense.
