New Hov album with good reviews, and of course it's a Tidal exclusive (at least for the time being).

Le sigh.

Not feeling it at all.

Lyrics basically just "Trials and tribulations of the 1% by Jay Z".

He starts rapping about his freaking credit score and missed real estate opportunities.

It's actually refreshing to hear him rap about stuff that's relevant in his current life. He's long removed from Marcy.

Listening to artists in their 40's like The Lox still rap about pushing weight is pathetic.
who cares how old they are now? Rapping about your investments and the like are super lame. I went to the Lox show when they came this year and I like hearing about pushin weight, they killed it at the show. I'm 40 by the way so I like hearing what I grew up on. I love hip hop cuz its gritty and grimey, not to hear about my mortgage payments and how I should invest. I like conscience hip hop too like Immortal Technique but that's different. I like Jay but am not a die hard fan of his. I have like 5 of his albums and they're the early Jay Z albums. The last one I bought was American Gangster.

Singing classic songs and making new songs about something you haven't done in 30 years are two different things. I agree with Thrill that its dumb to hear guys like Jay Z who aren't struggling anymore put out new music about the struggle. Music evolves with life, not to mention the album isn't about struggles with stocks and bonds and mortgages. He may mention them but the album is about his life now, his affairs, societal issues....
ehh, I guess that's ok but it's not what people really want. I think he's a hypocrite tho, preachin about savin money but then his tour is crazy priced tix. Like I said, I've never been like a crazy die hard Jay-Z fan. I like his music but I'm not a fanatic where I gotta have his albums.

Yeah me too, he goes hard! See, this is the kind of hip hop that needs to be put out to the masses, not this other garbage all over the airwaves.
