I am really happy we have this guy I think he is going to be pushing for some play time this season.

The Green Bay Packers Tuesday signed defensive end Michael Montgomery.

Green Bay now has three of its 11 selections under contract, including guard/center Junius Coston, who signed May 16, and guard William Whitticker, who signed on Monday.
Montgomery, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound player out of Texas A&M, earned first-team All-Big 12 honors as a senior in 2004, when he posted 78 tackles, six sacks, one interception and 12 tackles for loss. He played in 10 games as a reserve defensive end at Texas A&M in 2003, making 43 tackles (22 solos) with a sack and seven stops for losses. In 22 games with the Aggies, he registered 121 tackles (47 solos), six sacks for minus-23 yards and 15 stops for losses of 56 yards. He returned an interception 14 yards, deflected two passes and had five quarterback pressures. He also recovered two fumbles and caused another.

Montgomery suffered a broken thumb in the post-draft minicamp and was limited in June minicamp practices.

Montgomery joins Terrence Murphy, whom Green Bay had drafted four rounds earlier, as one of two Aggies captains last season, and earned his team's defensive MVP in leading A&M to the Cotton Bowl.

Montgomery was an all-conference and All-America defensive lineman at Navarro Junior College. He recorded 56 tackles and five sacks in 2002 and posted 75 stops and a sack his freshman campaign.

The Packers chose Montgomery with their first of two selections in the sixth round (180th overall), a choice acquired from Oakland in the Marques Anderson trade last September.

Only two other teams, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, are believed to have signed three draft picks, according to the Packers

We'll take all the help on the D-line that we can get. We definitely need some help on the opposite side from KGB. Anyone with potential is welcome.
