Sidney Ponson possibly pitched his last game for the O's last night. He pitched well, but the slumping O's still lost their 6 out of 7, 3-2 to the D-Rays. Its obvious we need some sort of shakeup, and sending Ponson to San Diego in exchange for the Phil Nevin would certanily do that. I'm not sure if the Burnett deal will happen at all anymore, so this could possibly be the only attempt at trying to right the sinking ship. The Padres have apparently not asked Nevin to waive his no trade clause yet, though. He's batting .262 with 9 homers and 47 RBI's this year, and would help waken the slumbering bats in Baltimore. If this is indeed the end of the Sidney Ponson era in Baltimore, say goodbye and good riddance, and don't let the door hit you on ur way out. He was good for about a half a season, which caused us to pay huge bucks for him. big mistake. the fat Aruban will likely have more success in a change of scenery and at PETCO Park, but its clear he'll never amount to anything in Baltimore
PS: does anyone have any news about AJ Burnett? _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.” |
