Hank Stram, a legend in Kansas City sports history, died Monday in New Orleans following a lengthy illness.
He was 82.
Stram led the Chiefs to their only two Super Bowl appearances: In Super Bowl I the Chiefs lost to the Green Bay Packers, and in Super Bowl IV in 1970, the Chiefs defeated the Minnesota Vikings. |

He beat the vikings badly in SB IV, a game we were supposed to win, but us old timers have nothing but respect for Coach Hank Stram.
If he had won a few more championships, it's quite possible teams would play for the Stram Award at the Super Bowl instead of the Lombardi Trophy. Hank Stram was that good.

| My sympathies from Indy, he was one of the great class acts to ever grace the sidelines. Easily among the greatest. |

Hank Stram was someone who helped bring us the NFL. He won a SB, and Set a legacy for KC Sports. It was a shame he had to wait so long to get into the Hall of Fame.
R.I.P. Coach
ps... This Super Bowl is for you! _________________
