Yeah this isn't exactly new news, but here it is officially in print... oddly enough the one thing that stuck out at me was the paragraph that read:
| Quote: | | McCants will need to learn the Eagles' offense, but could instantly develop into a key special teams guy with the help of one of the top coaches in the league in coordinator John Harbaugh. |
because preseason or not, after that Steelers game... if they could dominate us that much, than by principle, their coach seems a much better and faster teacher than ours. Although to be fair we have given away or lost any special teams specialist of ours who has played well, not the least of whom are people like Ike Reese and JR Reid.
Either way though this says that Reid really likes McCants' potential, and Andy's WR-talent-level sensor seems to finally be working with Reggie Brown, so we can definitely hope for the best... _________________

ok go26, I love your sig, its freakin' great!
As a Redskins fan I can tell you that McCants is a good solid WR, how good is ultimatley up to him. He shared the team lead with Coles for touchdowns in 2003 (i know, the Skins scored few and far between with Spurriers Chuck and Duck offense) He was a favorite target in the redzone of all 3 of the QB's that started that year.
2004 was a different story, he refused to play special teams, a position that Gibbs was requiring all of the WR's to try in the pre-season. He got benched and was only active for about 2-3 games of the 2004 season. It was hard to judge how well he played with our amazing passing game last season so I was hopping he would get a second chance with us this season, seeing as he was the only WR over 6' on the roster.
He seems like he would be a good fit for the Eagles, I sort of hope he doesn't work out (only because that would be 2 ex-Skins playing well on the Eagles). But if he does play Special Teams for you guys he will probably make the team. _________________

He has the size to do well in the WCO, and he's a good red zone threat opposite TO. _________________

Yeah the article mentions him trying special teams, so hopefully he doesn't refuse to play them here, because that definitely won't go over well... but I doubt he will, he's been cut once and I doubt he'll risk being cut again and not getting another chance. _________________
