The Eagles will probably not touch FA unless a young up and coming player can be had at a deal. Although Howard would be logical is any of them. But the Eagles will more than likely resign Burgess.
Also Thomas isn't a FA he is signed through 2008. So if the Eagles franchise anyone it will be Simon.
I expect the Eagles to resign the following players:
Westbrook
Reese
Trotter
Burgess
franchise: Simon
Than the Eagles first day needs will be as follow:
DE/DT
TE
RB
WR
LB
If I were you I wouldn't get my hopes up, there is a great chance that the Eagles team will look mostly the same, just with a little more depth. _________________

Franchise Thomas?
What are you talking about?
Tra Thomas is signed through 2008, Hollis Thomas would never be franchised and William Thomas has been out of football for a while! _________________ [http://www.brown24.com/default.asp] |

| What do you guys think the likelihood of the Eagles going after Davenport? He is a restricted FA, if GB offers him the minimum RFA contract? He would only cost the Eagles a 4th round draft pick, which they can afford to give up. He has experience in WCO playing in GB, a 250 pound short yardage back with game breaking speed, also can return kick of returns, probably will get more time playing behind Westbrook then A.Green. |

| I like the idea of the eagles going after davenport. i was hoping tapeh would become the eagles big back next year but with that injury they need to go get one either draft or FA. There is talk of lamount Jordon but i think he wants to be a starter somewhere and that won't be here cause the eagles will resign westbrook. Another FA i think the eagles should put a bit in for is Kurt Warner he is the only FA out there with a ring and if Mcnabb is hyperventaling or whatever he is doing in big games that come down to the wire he could use a QB with experiance to talk to. Where ever Warner goes he will be a backup. He'll be listed as a number #3 on the chart but only because koy needs to hold for akers. |

Eagles would never go for Warner. He's too stiff and would want at least a chance to start. AR likes his QBs at least somewhat elusive (even Feely has better movement than Warner) if they don't go with Hall or a draftee, they'd probably love to get Tim Hasselback who only has a marginal chance of resigning (with Wash I think).
I think Davenports a possiblity but not for more than a couple years and does anyone know if they could wait to offer him something until after the draft? because I'm pretty sure they'd prefer to go young. |

| I never thought about Warner but think he would be a good back up and only as a back up. I like Koy but he is a 3rd stringer who is a glorified placeholder. I think we need someone to hold their own when and if McNabb goes down, preferably someone with some West Coast Offense experience. Garcia would be a great back up, reuniting with TO. That would be fun to watch. I’m stretching it with the Garcia insight but its just wishful thinking. First Davenport would probably get a tender from GB, then the Eagles can offer him a contract and GB can match. Not sure what are the exact time frames, but I think this all happens before the draft, probably during March. Davenport is not that old (Just turned 26), he came in the league the same time Westbrook did. I think Lamont Jordan rumors is a bit of a reach. He wants a big contract and to be the number 1 guy. He has a better chance of getting both from the Jets. Probably needs to share time with Curtis Martin for 1 more year before he becomes their number 1 guy. Worst case scenario is: they address the RB situation in the draft and have to wait till the RB learn the system. We are still waiting for Tapeh (I’m losing patience!). Buckhalter may get a 1-year offer and that would be good if he is healthy. |
