I can't blame anyone for not being familiar with Herrera. He is a junior college post player for Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. He is being recruited by Kansas State. Nothing unusual.

But check out what his junior college coach told Brian Gates of Gopowercat.com [a rivals.com affiliate]:

"If Abdul ends up at Kansas State, he won't be an impact player for them. But, Frank and his staff aren't recruiting Abdul to be an impact player."

Honestly, does anyone else find that as harsh as I do?

That is very unprofessional.

No coach should ever publicly call out a player that he coached like that.

Yeah, i agree..

Theres a difference between being bold and being upset that a player of that caliber is leaving their program.

I definitely thinks its crossing the line as well. What's wrong with the generic, "he will need to improve certain areas of his game" line that coaches usually give when talking about below-average players?

Eh... as long as he's an amateur athlete, it isn't really cool to talk this way about him. If he was making millions of dollars a year, then feel free to talk bad about him. But come on, he's a kid playing for the love of the game.
