How bad was that performance. I was driving back to school so i didn't get to watch the game, but by from what it sounds like is that we didn't even show up to play. Its good to see burgess with another 2 sacks though

Really, this was the Kerry Collins melt down that we havent seen this year yet. We all knew it was going to happen, and this was it. Missing wide open receivers, poor reads, and bad game management. As well, the Rob Ryan defense showed its ugly head. I really feel that the players on the Raiders are good players, but the coordinators are absolutely horrible. Rob Ryan is garbage. It was painful to watch my beloved Raiders not take advantage of the mismatches and opportunotoes they were given.

I don't mind ryan really. Our defense has played much better than expected this year even with a ton of injuries in the secondary and now sapp. You also have to remember that Ryan is mainly a 3-4 guy that is running a 4-3 because he doesn't have the players to run a 3-4. Jimmy Raye and Norv Turner are a whole different thing. This offense was supposed to be a top 5 offense in yards and points but we can't score 30 points if our lives depended on it. I would love to see a defensive minded coach in here finally that can get a good O coordinator but I dont really know of any of them out there.

Collins really needs to go. He sucks and he is taking up 12 million of cap next year. I would rather us bench him now and figure out if tusisasopo or the rookie we drafted are any good cuz its obvious collins is not the answer to our qb situation. And if those to aren't then we have 2 make a move at qb.

As long as Ryan keeps trying to make defensive ends linebackers, he's useless. For god's sake, try drafting an actual outside linebacker, or even getting one of the decent ones in free agency (Tommy polley, anthony simmons, etc.)

I never liked norv turner, and the last two seasons really reiterate my feelings. I agree, we need a d minded head coach, but alos one who wont accept all the penalties that we've been taking for the last decade. Taking that many penalties says something about the lackluster attitude to execution that turner, callahan, and to some extent gruden had. Get a no bs d coordinator (cough...Rivera...cough) for a head coach. Then have the faith to stick with them ala Cowher and Fisher.

The problem is really that we had a great coach but traded him because Al Davis couldn't push gruden around like he can do with Norv. With Cower and Fisher they were good from the get go. I don't think we necessarly need a D minded coach. We have a great offensive team if we only knew how to use it. I would like to see one of these guys get the chance next year.

Brian Billick - if he gets fired
Pete Carroll - is now a local god
Al Saunders - Cheifs OC just look what he has done without WR
Mike Martz - Scary good Offensive that usually ends up in the playoffs
Gary Kubiak - Denvers OC imagine Jordan running behind those blocking shcemes
Bob Bratkowski - Cinci's OC he has turned that offense into a dominate one
Ron Rivera - Bears DC i think he would bring a much needed attitude change on D but I would be worried on how he would handle an O like ours.

See i like the idea of Billick if he gets fired. That would be a gem. But Martz would have the same soft attitude to discipline and i dont think saunders or bratkowski would be very good head coaches, their offenses click becuase of the personell running them. I like the idea of Kubiak, due to the continued success and demeanor of that oline tells me he's a no nonsense guy. I think Pete Carrol has too good a thing going, especially after how he was run out of the Jets orginization. I like Rivera, cause he can shape our d into somehting dominant, and a solid o coordinator can take the talent on o and make something happen. Think Norv wants to be demoted to o coordinator? he seems to do better in that role.

I doubt Kubiak or Saunders would ever end up in Oakland.

Kubiak is Shanahan's pal and I don't think he'd be in Raider colors based on past history.

Meanwhile, Saunders had offers to interview for Oakland last time we had a coaching vacancy, and he stated at that time that he'd have no interest in ever working with Al Davis.

Forgive my ignorance, but I can't remember who this Rivera guy is.I've heard the name before, but who does he coach for?

What do you guys think about Mack Brown?

I don't know too many QB's that are going to win a game in which they are sacked 7 times. This is really on the OL, which is one of the real weaknesses of this team. Gallery needs to be moved to his natural position of LT. Give Langston another try at RT. move Sims to his natural position of LG or let him go and draft a LG. I don't know if Turner is a good head coach but he is certainly a top notch offensive coordinator. I think we should give him another year. Two years is not sufficient time to install a new offense and get the personnell you need to come together. Ryan on the other hand is not a good fit. But he has done a good job this year and would seem to deserve another year. However, with the drafting of Hawthorne it does not appear that we will be switching to a 3-4 anytime soon and somebody needs to save Brayton's career and move him back to DE. This move is as bad as having Sapp play DE.

good point, but kerry collins has made a lot of bad decisions, so i think he is most at fault

turner was a good o-coordinator in miami, i wouldnt call him topnotch though-----

Norv turner got labled a Offensive genius when he was the OC for the Cowboys in the early 90s he also did a pretty good job as a head coach in washington. In miami his downfall was that he didn't have a running game when he had marino and then he got a running game and didn't have a QB. He is a great OC though.

kjherrm, great list that you threw out there as they are all interesting choices. Norv has NO fire and gonads whatsoever, and it's not so much that he won't stand up to all, but that he just doesn't show any spit & vinegar on the field. He doesn't seem to exploit the matchups that are on the field and he seems to get outcoached on a weekly basis.

Ryan should stay, I like what his defense brings and he's a few players away from really having a good defense. Could you imagine what he could do if he had a real LB to start instead of Brayton along with a stud SS?

Btw, I know that Ryan doesn't have any other LB's to throw out there (besides Clark and Morrison) that are worth a damn, but I don't know how many times I wanted to bite my hand off after seeing Brayton drop-back in pass coverage this season. Brayton is a DE and he's completely overmatched in the passing game. I'm hoping the Raiders sign Will Witherspoon from Carolina this off-season.
