A cover guy is exactly what we need. We got good pressure on the quarterback this year and our run defense was solid, but we gave up too many big plays through the air because our DBs can't stay on anybody's #1 receiver. We need a ballhawk to break up mid-deep passes and generate interceptions, and though Huff will likely be gone, Landry would be a great pick.

Agreed.

We won't get Bing, we need a FS or a corner. Plus, I don't think Ko is a second rounder. There are teams looking for free safeties, and he's got the size and skills to do it. The only problem with him is he's unexperienced.

With all due respects to all of your football knowledge...and the thoughts of drafting Michael Huff as our #1 pick...here's a history lesson:

2003 #1 Sammy Davis Texas A&M
2003 #2b Terrance Kiel Texas A&M
2002 #1 Quentin Jammer Texas
1995 #2 Terrance Shaw Stephen F. Austin
1991 #1 Stanley Richard Texas
1984 #1 Mossy Cade Texas

What have we learned... DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS (DB'S)!!!

How about some more history...
2003 #1 Troy Polamalu
1994 #2 Jason Sehorn
1990 #1 Mark Carrier
1987 #2 Tim McDonald
1983 #1 Joey Browner
1981 #1 Ronnie Lott

What have we learned here... If you can't get a USC DB (Bing) with your 1st round pick, trade for one later!!!

MESSAGE TO AJ........SUPER-SIZE US! Go BIG at the OL (i.e. Scott, Justice, O'Callaghan, etc.) or trade down.

The only way little LT is gonna get thru the middle, is with wide bodies paving the way. Unfortunately Marty the Dinosaur doesn't understand the field is 160' wide and the game doesn't have to be played between the hash marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look for LT to be out of football inside of 4 yrs if this crap continues.

They need a SS more than they need a FS. Bhawoh Jue got off to a fast start and tapered off toward the end but he'll still be the starter at FS and he's fine. However, Terrance Kiel simply has not lived up to expectations and needs to be replaced. Another thing though, is that the way the chargers play their defense, the safeties are basically interchangeable and there's not that much difference between the SS and FS position. Therefore, I'm OK with taking Bing, Landry, or Simpson.

With the 19th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, The San Diego Chargers select Darnell Bing, Safety, University of Southern California..
