Who would you rather have on your team?
What NFL QB would you compare Jay Cutler to?
What NFL QB would you compare Vince Young to? |

I think it depends on team and offense you want to run.
If I was Titans, I would take Young- and I think they will. The reason is two fold.
1) The Titans have a good support system for Young to thrive in. They have solid QB and Head Coach, good mentors in McNair (for one year) and Volek, but most importantly, a organization that has alot of patience in handling project players.
2) Titans are in good position to build around Young. They have young WR core with an excellent group of TE's. They are in full rebuild mode, so it makes sense build around very talented QB who has tons of upside.
With McNair likely playing only one more year Titan, that is more indication they are taking QB than Dbrick.
Volek is nice QB but he is injury prone and 30.
I like Cutler too, but he needs to play in a more pass happy offense than Tennessee has traditionally run. He is better fit for the Jets or Arizona.
Cutler may turn out to be Jake Plummer (i do not buy the Favre comparisons yet)
Vince Young reminds me alot of better verison Randall Cunningham.

me i think cutler is more liek kyle boller-good stuff... but not a good player-he hasent proven anything and has just been hyped up like crazy
I would not compair Vince to cunningham... hes more of a Mcnair... which is why he is PERFECT for the titans...
he is big, but not huge
fast, but not vick
can throw, but isnt manning
and is a GREAT leader, like mcnair _________________

| I would draft Vince Young over Jay Cutler. Young is similar to McNair or maybe McNabb. Can run already and his passing game will get better with more experience. Cutler is similar to Boller. I think his stock has gone up because the QB class is pretty weak after Leinart and Young. |

I'll pipe in on this one as a Titan fan.
I would take Vince "Only the good die" Young in a heartbeat over Jay "veal" Cutler (sorry, working on my Chris Berman futuristic 2 minute drill).
Heres my reasoning. Vince Young took a lot of crap since the season ended. Why? Well, they said that he had the best completion percentage in the country only because he liked to dump to the TE's and RB's. Well, last I checked that type of QB play fits the Titans system (Brown, Troupe, Kinney and Scaife). McNair took this team to a Super Bowl doing just that (ala Frank Wycheck and Eddie George). He made the occasional nice toss to the WR and made the overly spectacular run about twice a game. To me VY is Steve McNair but taller, faster, stronger but questionable in technique and VY has a tendancy to put the ball on the ground a little more than I like. He has big hands so I dont think he'll be a career fumbler like Dave Kreig or Warren Moon.
Cuttler is OK but at this time a little too inconsistant for my liking. Even at the combine he'd make 2 great throws then a shaky one that was nowhere close to where it had to be and he looked rushed (like as if scouts, coaches and GM's from 32 NFL teams were watching him or something). He did well with what he had to work with at Vandy and believe me, it wasnt much. Problem for me is that he never made Vandy any better than what it would have been without him. In 4 years under Cutler Vandy never went to a Bowl game, Never beat a ranked team and never had a winning season. Last season they still lost to Kentucky, South Carolina and Middle Tennessee State. Vandy was what Vandy was under Cutler...nothing more.
Conversly, Texas would definately NOT be the National Champs if VY wasn't there. They would have been good, possibly BCS Bowl good but not a Natl. Champ. Vince did that, alone, by himself. He alone made Texas the 2006 Natl. Champs. He's unreal scary elusive, he's loose as a goose, he stares at adversity and then kicks it in the teeth. Bottom line....Vince Young is the consumate winner and I pray that the Titans are afforded the luxury of still having him on the board at #3. _________________
