I absolutely hated Z&M Make A Porno. It was funny but like you said the plot was way too predictable, such a cliche' ending for movies anymore.

American Psycho [2000, Mary Harron]

My favorite aspect of American Psycho is the cinematography, its very modern and ahead of its time, even for 2000. However, i found the narratives to grow quite annoying after a while. Oh yeah, by the way, American Psycho is about a big-powered business man who is obsessed with status and is also secretly a murdering rapist, and part-time cannibal. The novel adaptation is well-acted by the leads as well, but the satire isn't all too strong, however, the music references just prior to either A.) rough sex or B.) gruesome murder, were quite entertaining and witty. Overall i can't say i was disappointed with American Psycho, but i also can't say i was overly impressed. Also, the ending was weak and didn't really make sense, the pieces were never put together.

The Verdict: B- - 79%

A Clockwork Orange [1971, Stanley Kubrick]

A top-notch film by a top-notch director and one of my favorite directors of all-time. The film may not be overly exciting and does drag on a bit in some points, but is a grim, dark, and disturbing look into an alternate reality, 1970s England where law and order take a back seat to destructive behavior. The film is about a teenage boy who is the leader of a small gang made up of his "droogs" who go around committing crimes from vandalism to rape and everywhere in between. However, after Alex (the gang leader) upsets his droogs the set him up to get caught and he is then imprisoned for murder, he is sentenced to 14 years in prison but is selected for a experimental recovery program and is set free much sooner. He is then re-entered into society, but a very unforgiving one. Although the film may be a hard one to watch, it is a brilliant work by Kubrick and its overall quality and greatness can't be denied, in my book.

The Verdict: A - 92%

Well I have to disagree with you there. I found American Psycho to be a great film, a great statement on the 80s "yuppie" culture of businessmen. As for The Clockwork Orange, I wasn't a fan of that.

I'd probably switch your grades around on those two myself.

I would probably agree with your grade, even though AP is one of my favorite movies ever. I think the character of Patrick Bateman is just brilliantly funny and endlessly watchable.

Clockwork is an amazing movie, must have in your DVD collection. AP is all about Bale, he is great but the movie is not really that great.

The Hangover [2009, Todd Phillips]

A group of 30-something guys head to Las Vegas to throw their friend a bachelor party, one to remember, and it most certainly is. The group of four guys go on the bender to end all benders and are accidentally drugged in the process. The three friends of the groom-to-be wake up the next morning, hungover as can be and don't remember a thing...and they've lost the groom. They run around Vegas trying to A.) Find the groom and B.) remember what the hell happened to them last night. Hilarity ensues. The Hangover is one of the more clever comedy scripts to come out in a while and does have a good number of laughs throughout, however, I do feel as though it is being overrated by many, its a solid comedy yes, but doesn't top the likes of say, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, or even Superbad in my book.

The Verdict: B - 82%

I bought Blazing Saddles, Halloween, Training Day, The Departed, George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), and RoboCop today, so I will be getting reviews for these up sometime in the next week or so.
