Keep searchig for that title Cuban, they are still after geting Marrion only the 4th best team in the West. They can't beat LA, Denv, SA or maybe even Portland in a 7gm series.

Good work Mav41.

Turtle, dont wright in absolutes when you dont know what your talking about. The Mavs were built to beat S.A. and have beat them the last 2 times they faced them in the playoffs. With better officiating against Den the series would have been tied 2-2 and who knows what happens from there, add in that we now have a great perimeter defender in Marion which we didnt have last year and that killed us against them, so beating them is possible. The Mavs would currently murder Portland in a 7 game series. The only team that I would bet money against the Mavs on in the playoffs right now is LA (assuming Odom returns). But throw in an injury to LA or just some plain bad luck, and anything could happen. Thats the beauty of actually playing the games, it doesnt matter what it looks like on paper. So are the Mavs the favorites - No. But to say they have no shot is naive. With a good bounce of the ball or two, and a favorable call here or there, they could beat all 3 of those teams in a 7 game playoff series.

Also, the Mavs most likely arent done making moves. Even if it doesnt happen this offseason, dont be surprised to see them make a splash around the trade deadline. They have alot of bullets they could fire if they see an oppurtunity. They have the Buck shot (a smaller Stackhouse-like expring contract that can be used starting sep 9th), Dampiers HUGE expiring contract, and J-Ho with his expiring.

lets see POR hasnt done anything. we added Marion. we were 3-0 vs POR last year. we are the best team vs SA in the past 5 years. they cant stop Dirk. LA and DEN are the only 2 probs in the west for us and we might be able to get at DEN.

anyways good job Mav41.

What do you guys think we do with the MLE? I hope we go after Hakim Warrick and Rashad McCants

Hakim Warrick is now a UFA so that makes it easier How mmuch would you offer? 4mil? There arent any other top tier teams that would really go after him so I think we should get him.

i asked this question that went unanswered b/c u started this new thread:

if i chose a backup pf from the celtics id go after leon powe, his #'s are better than davis he shoots a higher % and more boards and would probably come cheaper. only downfall is he's out til around the AS break

btw i was out of town the last 10 days what was the local feeling of the magic matching gortat's offer? did they and the fans feel like they got the shaft b/c i was real pissed to hear they matched it. it wouldve made our team so much more athletic and i feel we'd have the size and athleticism to compete w/the top tier teams of the western conference

Why do Mavs fans always complain about officiating. You did it against us in the 06 Finals, and you do it again when you lose to a good team.

Why can't you admit that the Nuggets were better than you last year, and that Dwyane Wade $#!tted on you in the 06 Finals?

well i wasnt a fan of the officiating vs. denver but they were simply a better team

as for the 06 finals that was the biggest sham in nba history in terms of officiating (maybe 02 lakers-kings) and it's not just mavs fan who've spoken up about that series. seriously a guy sets a ft record in a 7 game series in 6 games while nearly outshooting the other team in ft's the final 2 games screams favoritism and looking back on the games it's not even close

Yeah, I wasn't crazy about the officiating in the Denver series, but I don't think it greatly effected anything (Except Game 3)

But you're blind if you don't think there was something disturbingly wrong with the officiating in the Dallas/Miami series. Even the biggest of Dallas haters will tell you that was a joke. Bill Simmons wrote one of the longest columns he's ever done saying it was the worst rip job since Kings/Lakers.

Game 5...Dallas shoots 25 free throws and Dwyane Wade on his OWN shoots 25 free throws? That wouldn't be surprising with this current team, but that 06 Mavs team was a slashing offense. They always drove the rim.

As Simmons said in his article "I just can't understand how anyone is supposed to believe that (Free throw discrepancy) happens in a fairly called game."

So, no...I won't ever give Miami their "due" for "winning" a title in 06 that was jobbed from us because Stern couldn't stand to hand the trophy over to Cuban.

Basketball-Reference.com has named Dirk Nowitzki to it's all-decade team! Woo-hoo!

That's a phenomenal stat. Just wanted to point that out.

I like your roster this year -- I think Marion will add more to this team than people realize.

yeah game 5 Wade had 25 fts; our whole team had 25 ft's. i dont care how many times you go to the hole that should NEVER happen. Wade had over 100 FTs in the series. That ws the first for me. Has Wade done anything with his team since? No cuz the new goal is to get LeBron and Kobe more rings. And DEN was better than us but the refs did go overboard. If they called it fair we would have won at least 2 maybe 3 games. Go back to your team thread if all you are gonna do is talk [inappropriate/removed] about our team.

First off, I dont see how what I said was complaining about officiating at all, but nice job in trying to twist my words. Second, the NBA themselves came out and said that they blew that critical call of the intential foul on Melo, so if you still disagree with that, I really dont know what to tell you (other than your dead wrong). Third, the officiating in the 06 Finals was the worst officiating I have ever seen in my life. D-Wade got more phantom calls than even MJ ever did. If the Mavs even breathed on him or looked at him inpolitely, it was a foul. So go ahead and enjoy your title, thats your right as a fan, but any sensical non-heat/non-mav hating fan will tell you the Mavs got royaly jobbed in that series.

Guys there is no need to tell people to get out of a certain team thread. But in the same respect making a post that says has no substance and is nothing but claiming a group of fans are complaining (in esscence calling them homers) about calls is not something that should occur either. Try to keep all discussions civil.

Thanks.
