Things I noticed while watching the game at work:

- Reggie Nelson looked like he wasn't even trying. Awful in coverage, decided to play two hand touch out there. Someone tell him it's tackle football.

- After Tra had a damn good game against the Titans back in week 4, he was putrid yesterday. Instead of starting Tra one week and Eugene the next it seems like, how bout we just start Eugene every week so the O-Line can get some chemistry together? After all, we are looking towards the future, might as well play the young guy.

- Poor Brian Russell. He got baptized on that 89 yard TD run by Chris Johnson (who is a stud btw)

- MJD. What more can I say? Just give this kid more than 8 carries a game for petes sake. He is by far our best offensive weapon.

- Daryl Smith was everywhere yesterday. Heck of a game by Daryl.

- We need to learn how to tackle. I don't know how many missed tackles we had yesterday. Time to go back to the fundamentals.

- Instead of holding onto the ball for forever, David needs to get rid of the ball quicker. Even if the receivers aren't open, at least throw it away instead of taking the sack.

Yes the loss yesterday was very depressing but this is a young team so you have to expect some bumps along the road. We are going to be inconsistent this season, that's just how it is. Our future is bright though.

DG on checks, "We called runs, but they were putting so many in box I had option of throwing to receivers outside on those quick slants."

Koetter said Thursday: "Some of those passes R really runs. Dave site‐adjusts to a wide receiver based on look. We’re really calling a run."

at one point the instruction was, “Look, just hand it to him and let him run with the ball,” Del Rio said.

The part that kills me is the situation in where he was changing the plays out of run plays and into pass plays. In those first 8 pass plays, it was 2 completions (for 9 yards), 1 sack, 1 pick, 1 Fumble (not lost) and an intentional grounding.

Im all for the QB reading the defence and getting us into the play that is best suited, but come on. How bad could those run plays have really been? When you include the Intentional grounding and the fumble, it was a result of -21 yards, and a turnover. I would bet my house that if we gave MJD the ball on all 8 of those plays, and even told the defensive line we were going to run it to the right he would not have lost 21 yards and turned the ball over.

I think Dirk is calling too many pass plays, and not enough Play Action, but at the same time I think DG is acting too much like Peyton with none of the results in this game.

Because of all the things that Garrard can do, he isn't able to fortell the future. He was going with the information given to him at the time (line of scrimmage) and made a choice. They weren't all the right choices, but it must be easy to "bet your house" knowing the results of how things happened. Who knows if MJD would have fumbled the ball or been injured. None of us and the reason is because history didn't happen that way. Not to mention Dirk stated he called rushing plays, and David checked off. Do you honestly know how many rushing plays Dirk called?
