Even though Henne is lined up behind the guard direct snap it to him. Fake hand off to Ronnie who runs to the right flat, turns, and screams for the ball. Fasano comes out falls to ground, gets up, and starts running his 5 yard crossing route. Hartline runs a deep post (to clear). Bess runs an 8 yard curl. Ginn takes off on a wheel. Henne fires it to Bess. Bess laterals to Ginn, who blasts off up the side line. I'd like to see a hook and lateral.

A direct snap to Henne? Now there's a novel idea! LOL How is that a Wildcat? Of course we could always line up in the Wildcat, then send Henne in motion so he is suddenly the QB. That would throw some teams off for at least a few plays, cause they would have 9 guys in the box, with a suddenly very conventional offense on the field. We have sent Ricky in motion in the past to have him stand next to Ronnie. There is no reason we can't do that with Henne.

Laughing HAHA a direct snap to Henne wouldnt really be wildcat now would it?! I do like the idea of motioning Henne into the backfield to try and catch the defense with to many in the box though.

This is somewhat like what Denver did against the Pats. Orton was out wide than would come in motion back under center. They called it the wild horses and it absolutely shredded the Pats D. Would love if we could watch the tape of this game and try to do something similiar with Henne.

Ginn----Hartline ------------------------ Camarillo---White
***************Ronnie---Ricky****************

one play: direct snap to Ronnie, play action with Williams, reversible with pat white, pass to greg camarillo.....6 points for the dolphins! Dancing

Next we'll be running a wishbone option play...

no.. really though.. I'd like to see us run the wildcat with White a bit more and have him pass, from it... would make a direct snap run to Brown or Williams.. harder to defend.. if the defense has to defend the pass aswell... just a thought..... Smile

I would like to see the Dolphins run some of the old single wing...

....19................80..65..C..66..72..77...................................15
.......................................................34

......................23
.....................................6

The defense would have to hesitate to send the corners due to the speed of the WR's and the ability of Pat White to throw the football. This would keep at least 3 out of the box.

My play to see would be the old counter. Motion 23 across QB, fake to 23. QB heads up the middle and makes an inside handoff to 34 heading left and cuts up the B gap. Playside OL down blocks; 66 pulls left and takes out EMOL.

Direct snap to Ronnie running along the left side with the option to toss it to White. White has the option to either run the ball or pass it to Hartline or Haynos.

Sounds ok in theory?

The Wildcat's most useful when we just allow Brown to create. Once we get started with trickery, and base the scheme around that, it becomes far less useful. I love the Wildcat plays where we just snap it to Ronnie, who's surrounded by a bunch of big guys, and let him search for the best running lane.

That said, when defenses get set to stop the Wildcat, and put extra guys out to watch the run, I think a screen to Pat White or Ricky could be a nice twist.

I donīt think so. What blocking scheme would you use here? Pass block? Run block? Imagine a guard taking off for a monster downfield block, and then PW decides to throw....bad idea.

Some good ideas so far, I don't have any experience drawing things up but some things that I have been thinking about are:

* Have White & Ronnie close together in shotgun, so that the defense isn't even sure which is going to receive the snap.

* Need to get Wr's involved now that teams are using CB blitzes to try and disrupt the package.

* White definitely needs to complete a few passes. So far every time hes taken a snap hes handed off, or run between the tackles on a QB draw. Kind of curtails his dual threat if he never throws.

Would a bubble screen type play work from White to Ginn...if the CB blitzes, the S has to rotate down and then in theory it could be only one man to beat.

Really like the idea of motioning Henne back to under center.

Having White line up next to Ronnie is a BAD idea. It is then no longer a Wildcat offense. White might as well just take the snap and either hand it to Ronnie or Ricky or throw it. That eliminates the whole concept behind the Wildcat having an extra blocker. The only way I see that being a good idea is if we shift to it. I really would like to see a Wildcat that we either shift to or shift out of to catch the defense off guard.

A screen out of the Wildcat is perhaps the best I dea I have heard yet!!! It's actually genius!! All teams are doing is stacking the box and blitzing every player but the one on one matchups. We don't even need White to throw it. Ronnie can throw a screen pass. It's not that difficult. As a matter of fact, he could throw it to Pat White! Someone get Henning on the phone.

Some ideas are good, and some are not!

You're right ....no reason why Ronnie can't throw the pass to the WR or White...if the screen works, it may prevent everyone from goin CB blitz and disrupting the other wildcat stuff.

Basically any play that gets the ball in Cobbs' hands. That little guy is fun to watch.

Ummm, Cobbs has been out for the season for several weeks now so that would be quite the trick play.

No one has to block downfield except a TE or WR's. They just have to set the edge and if the Linebacker comes after the QB, then it should leave an open passing lane somewhere, and if he doesn't, then it should leave the run open. Teams do this all the time. QB's always have the option to run on a rollout. With Pat White, the run option becomes more of a real threat though.

A couple of nice idea guys! Here's what I got. The green track Ricky Williams is on is the pre-snap motion. Ronnie fakes the handoff, and the orange tracks are post-snap routes. Ronnie rolls to his left and simulates his bootleg pass, only to stop, pivot and throw back across the field to Chad Henne, a la the Music City Miracle. The backward route Henne runs allows for a forward pass to take place after Henne (or Pat White) receives the throwback. Henne then looks downfield, and should see a wide open Ricky Williams continuing his rocket motion up the right sideline. If Ricky isn't covered, Henne can tuck it or he can hit Davone Bess on a comeback off of a post pattern. All receivers on routes are eligible, the formation is legal, the backward pass is legal...it'd work like a charm if we ever needed to use it. Thoughts?

With all the pressure put on the wildcat by teams and letting the CB's over deep, how about a screen pass to Lousaka Polite out of the WC?
