A well designed zone read, which I believe was the call on CJ's 89 yard touchdown, can really set this team up out of the shotgun. Once Vince fakes the handoff and runs a few times, teams are going to have to commit at least a linebacker to him every time we go shotgun, and it'll get Chris into space. Now that Vince is running again, we need to build plays around the speed of the two players in the backfield. Although you can't be an option team in the NFL, running the occasional option, and/or zone read, will free up things for Vince, for the receivers and for CJ. I liked what I saw from the coaching staff offensively this week, but I hope we continue to build on what we have from a creative standpoint. _________________

I beg to differ. From what I've read, Bud is not anywhere near giving Vince the keys to the future. Look here:

Hmm...either way not a big deal right now. He has the rest of the year to prove if he will be resigned. _________________ Tennessee Titans 3-6

I love being right and all, but its kind of cool seeing everyone reiterating the same argument you have made the past year.
You have no idea how horrible people would make me feel and belittle me for saying things like VY wasn't given a chance to shine after we upgraded our offense with CJ and even Crumpler. It got to the point where I didn't post here as much because I felt like my opinion wasn't welcomed with equality.
I would try and reason with people, telling them to not compare KC and VY stats because they were with two different offenses. Travis Henry and Chris Johnson are miles apart. Bobby Wade and Drew Bennett were our top receivers. Brandon Jones was still a promising young receiver.
People really wanted to crucify Young, and anyone who supported him felt the wrath as well. _________________

Wow, you are crazy. I guarantee you there was at least like 5 of us that stuck with him no matter what. I know I did for sure, and still do. But nice try _________________ Tennessee Titans 3-6

Very true, there were at LEAST 5. Me being one of them....

I'm just not of the opinion that he was owed anything by the team that he (twice) quit on. Seems like a sensible opinion to have, but what do I know...
He needs to prove himself to the team. Sunday was a big step in that journey, but it was not the final step. _________________

I never abandoned VY. My Texas Longhorns homerism wouldn't allow it. And really, I try to support every Titan with one troublesome CB of the past being the only exception I can think of.
Gibby has been pretty harsh on Vince, but I remember TR just flat out silenced that BigBen7MVP guy once while defending VY's 2006 season. _________________

My once favorite player on the team. Hints the fact that there's a '32' in my username.
I wish he would have just stopped playing games with the organization and hopefully we would have still had him here.
As for Vince though, I have to admit that I really did lose all faith in him and rather of had Collins leading the team in more ways then just one. Last week he looked great though and I started to build some trust in him again. As the game went along, I started seeing a lot of decisions that he made for the better and is something that was a lot different then in the past. Hopefully he can just keep improving and gain the trust back in his teammates to be able to help them win ball games. _________________

I'm sure he would disagree. I have nothing against people who don't watch every Titans game. I certainly don't have time to watch every game of every other team. But when people were giving Vince no credit for 2006, I did defend him. His contribution that year FAR outweighed his stats. Turned the whole attitude of the team around. 2007, on the other hand, was a complete disaster for Vince in so many ways.
I am going to stay open-minded however and see if he can rebuild his career. I'm not a victim guy, so I think Vince made his own bed. But I do hope he can turn it around and become the HOF'er he thinks he can be! _________________

He has deserved every critical thing said about him. I defended him very much until his regression in 2007. It is hard to defend a quitter, but I am intrigued after what I saw last Sunday. There is still hope for him, but one game proves nothing. He has to be consistent. _________________
