The Bills will probably not hire a GM which we all think is a neccessity. However I think signing Quinten Harris the Head Scout of the Arizona Cardinals to a position in Buffalo where he is in charge of all scouting would be a good solution. Give Harris a higher title with better pay and let him handle the entire scouting and drafting process since Modrak is terrible at this. Harris has helped find some really great gems for the Cards such as Dockett (3rd round), Boldin (2nd round), Adrian Wilson (2nd) Breaston (4th), Antonio Smith (4th) Dansby (2nd), etc amazing players to be getting in the 2, 3, and 4th rounds. SO this hopefully helps us getting better talent on this team.
Secondly we need a new coaching staff...with that said the Bills will not be a player for the top guys like Shannahan, Holmgrem, Gruden, etc. so at least lets get the best secondary options....Hire Alex Gibbs the Assistant Head Coach (Offense) of Houston. Gibbs has created a great offense in Houston over the last couple years, and would bring with him one of the top Offensive Coordinators Kyle Shannahan who would be a phenomenal OC and help mentor our young QB or rookie that we draft. lastly we should keep Perry Fewell as DC he has had this team playing great especially with so many pieces hurt. Alot of the problems has been our offense being so bad it leaves our D on the field the whole game. If a new coach Gibbs does not want to retain him they should look to sign ROmeo Crennel and play a more 4-3 3-4 hybrid using Maybin as an OLB. These moves should not be that expensive which the Bills love, but it should def create a better offense and get our defense a little more stout against the run.
Resign Ashton Youboty CB, George Wilson S/ST, Bryan Scott SS
onto free agency
WR Malcolm FLoyd-San Diego (27)-The Bills will need a solid #2 with size across from Lee Evans, and Floyd has really started to come on as a solid option who can outleap any DB. With Vincent Jackson, Marcus McNeil and Darren Sproles all FAs look for Floyd to def be available. He is only 27 and just reaching his peak. (4yr 17mil)
DT Barry Cofield- NY Giants(25)- Cofield is a talented DT with great size. He is not a star but a really good rotational player and would be a beast against the run which is our biggest problem on D. (5yr 15mil)
LB Kirk Morrison-Oakland (27)- THis guy is a sure handed tackling machine. He is not flashy but very effective and would be a good addition at LB and would replace the departed Ellison. (4yr 14mil)
LB Cato June- Houston (29)- has experience in Fewells D, is still a good player and will provide depth and maybe start if Kavika is not ready to go. (1yr 1.5mil)
Adam Terry OL- Baltimore (27)- Terry has good skills and should help provide some depth on this injury riddled O-line. (3yr 10mil)
total Free Agent Spending for 2010 11.6 million about right for the Bills since they never like to spend much in FA.
last but not least the Draft
1.) Russell O'Kung OT Oklahoma St.
2.) Tony Pike QB Cincy
3.) Mardy Gilyard WR/KR
4.) Jermaine Cunningham DE FLorida
5.) LeGarret Blount RB Oregon
6.) Eric Olsen C Notre Dame
7.) BPA

Couple things I liked couple things I didnt like. First....I think the GM idea from another team is good, but Id rather have it from a team that has had success in the past. Steelers, Ravens, Colts, Giants, etc. Someone who has learned under a alraedy solid GM or organization that can hopefully bring us success. I know the Cards have turned things around and have found some steals later in the drafts, but I would rather have a guy from a franchise that competes year in and year out.
Head Coach. There are a lot of big time coaches that will be out there and im not sure how many vacancies there will be. I wouldnt say its out of the relm of possibilities that we land a guys like Shannahon, but if we go after a coordinator I would rather have in be a guy like Lesilie Frasier from Minnesota. I think building a strong defense is key and a defense can win you championships. With lack of quality QB play, I would rather go defense mind than offense but bring in a former experienced offensive coordinator to run the offense.
Free Agents I actually like most of the guys you mentioned. SD is in a pinch this off season and with out an upcaped year they will have to let some guys go. Flyod will most likely be resigned but if not we should be all over his rador. I also think LB will be a key this offseason with some many quality names out there. Along with Morrison i love his partner Howard out there he would be a nice fit. Another name to watch for and I know GB will try and resign him is Johnny Jolly he has played solid all season for them.
As far as the draft. If we have a shot at a top three QB I would rather go there in the first round. I think we will too. This years OT class should be pretty deep and with the adition of Terry it might not be as big of a need as QB would. I think a guy like Jason Fox would be a nice quick in round 2. The only pick I really dont like is Blount, I know he has the talent of a second round pick but he reminds me a lot of Lawernce Phillips lot of baggage and trouble will follow him. Id rather go FA RB if we have too.
Overall not to bad though. |

not a bad draft. i beleive that unless we get to chose eather Locker or Clauson we should get an OT with our first pick. i like Pike a lot, he is big, has a good arm, but he does make some bad decisions but overall i would not mind us getting him. Gilyard is a great pick as Pike will be used to throwing to him and knows what he can do. FA looks good although Floyd will most likely be resigned so yeah. Morrison is a good pickup we should be able to get a good LB in FA this year, there are tons. overall a good offseason. i am not sure about that Coach but you are right in saying that the Bills will not pay big money to a guy to coach so in that case it is an alright decision. _________________

Quentin Harris had nothing to do with the selection of any of the players you mentioned since he's only been a Cardinals staff member since last year.
GM candidate I mentioned before Eric DeCosta:

DeCosta is the real deal.
While Perry Fewell has gotten some decent play out of the players he has, he is still of the Jauronesque/vanilla coaching philosophy. I wouldn't be terribly upset if he was sent to the unemployment line after this season assuming it's a dud. |

| Kirk Morrison would receive much more than that in a non-salary capped off-season...with the CBA, in 2010 he would be considered a restricted free agent as well as his pal Thomas Howard. I mean we could still try to sign them but the other team has a right to match it and the other team would get compensated with draft picks. |

| What is with the Tony Pike love fest?? He is no Mark Sanchez, and with one year college starting he will be holding a clipboard for 2 to 3 years. |

2 years starting. i like Pike he is a good pocket passer. i would take him in the second round if we got an OT in the first. _________________

Coefield will command more money that that. Kirk Morrison as well. I don't think he projects well outside. Like the direction and think the WR signing is on point. _________________ Dan Haren is Not an Ace. |

Um, that's a good thing for him.
Sanchez this year - 8 Games 53.3 Comp % 1443 Yds 8 TD 10 INT 67.6 QB Rating.
I'm sure he's pretty glad he's no Mark Sanchez. _________________ Regarding Aaron Schobel: | BeastM0de23RB wrote: | | We'll miss you Aaron. At least I will........You've meant so much to this franchise. A spray of purfume in a true s**t storm |
