starting to have major concern about this game. I liked it much better when we where under the radar! Roy has really put us in the National Spot light, alot this week with his comments. There is now constant media coverage of this game, from NFL Network, to NFL.com, to ESPN, Sports Illistrated, hell i even saw an article on CNN and Fox News this week regarding this game. Thanks Roy for the added attention!
This is a game with some pressure, Sunday night, primetime, against a Division Rival, against a team that blew us out of the water in our last game last season, for control of the division. And know you add in this new attention thanks to Roy.
This will be a good Test for Romo. Can he handle the adversity. Can he overcome the can't play in big game label. _________________

Our D is also much better than most of the teams you guys have faced thus far. Especially the weak pass defenses you faced in the last 3 games. (KC, Atl and Seattle.) No disrespect, just sayin. |

well, Vegas has this game at Philly -3 at 48 total
So we are still the underdog coming into the game according to Vegas.
According to the experts, here are the pics from:
ESPN:
Eagles:
Allen, Golic, Jaws, Mort, Schlereth, Wickesham, Accuscore and You Pick'em
Boy's:
Hoge and Shefter
CBS Sports:
Eagles:
Judge, Urbano and Madden
Boy's:
Harmon, Prisco and Richard
National Post: Eagles
Chicago Tribune: Eagles
Yahoo Sports:
Eagles:
Cole, Robinson and Silver
Boy's:
No one
Miami Herald: Boy's
I figured I would share what some of the National outlets have. We are the clear cut underdog. That I like. _________________

No he can't. He has played well in games bigger than this before. His performance Sunday won't mean a hill of beans to anyone who spouts that nonsense because they will redefine the game as not a big one if he wins and point to it as another choke if he loses. Same way they did with Pittburgh and New York last year-- his performance in the Meadowlands becomes "not an important game" even though it was far more important than the Pittsburgh game which became the prime example of how Romo chokes in big games (or the Baltimore game which did as well, even though he came through big time in the 4th quarter there).
The talk will go on until Romo wins a super bowl like it did with Elway, both Mannings, and Steve Young. Like it goes on to this day about Dan Marino and Danny White. |

Unfortunately you are exactly right. He could win the divisional, NFC championship, lose the SB, and still not shake the tittle of chokester. _________________

We did just face and destroy the Giants #1 ranked Defense like they were standing still. Thats not to say we will do the same Sunday Night. We just faced back to back top 7 Defenses the past two weeks. You should flip the script and use that statement when describing the Cowboy's the last 3 weeks not the Eagles. _________________

Only if you are going by yards as your defensive ranking, which is completely useless. _________________ Fire Wade

Especially considering the fact that the Giants defense is not the same without Phillips and that defense has been torched the last few weeks. _________________ R.I.P. Nikolas, you will truly be missed. |

I have been as hard on Romo as anyone, but this game is a test for the entire team, not Romo exclusively. We need to see if the Cowboys can compete with a tough team on the road vs. padding stats against clearly weaker opponents.
Romo presents an interesting dilemma in this game. He has been as hot as a pistol, and I don't want to take the ball out of his hands, yet at the same time I don't want "gunslinger" turnovers.
As far as Romo's history goes, the bottom line is he has turned the ball over and played very poorly in some big games, as has the team. Unfortunatley when you are the QB, the spotlight shines a little brighter on you, especially when you have the ghosts of Staubach and Aikman looking over you.
He has the talent. Does he have the intestinal fortitude? That is what we want to find out. It just seems that when Romo throws a pick, it isn't because of a great play by the defense. Inevitably it is because of some bonehead throw, or lack of a read by Romo. This is what drives me nuts. If he lays another egg against Philly, the criticism won't let up, and quite frankly it shouldn't. If he plays well and the team still loses, I'll cut him some slack. Hopefully we win and keep winning. This is definitely a benchmark game. Let's see what happens. _________________ Northland |

Of which he's made none this year.
The Giants INTs were two mistaken reads and a bad throw coupled with a freak bounce. The Denver INT was a miscommunication between him and a receiver who is evidently past that now.
He has not fumbled while scrambling once this year.
I keep telling you guys, you *are* seeing the improvement you asked for out of Romo. |

You do realize that they have played 6 games without Phillips since weeks 2 and still had the #1 Defense. Since that has come into question and I want to respond to the original question again since Dallas is NOT the best Defense we have faced ,here you go.
Giants
Yds.............. 1st (now #3)
Pass Def...... 3rd
Sacks........... 7th
Rush Def..... 19th
Wash
Yds............4th
Pass def....2nd
Sacks....... 7th
Rush ........22nd
Dallas
Yds................22nd
Pass Def........22nd
Sacks.............10th
Rush Def........13th
You really don't want me to break down Dallas opponents that last 3 weeks in KC, ATL and Seattle with those same categories. In fact the only thing you can criticize about those Defenses (NYG/Wash) are their ability to stop the run. We don't Run the ball everyone knows that. Only reason we put up 180+ last week was killing the clock ,2 big runs and a blowout. _________________

Yeah, the Giants defense didn't look very tough when we played the healthy version of it in week 2. Our defense also played poorly.
Cowboys pass yds vs. Giants: 127
Eagles Pass yds vs. Giants: 240
Cowboys rush yds. vs. Giants: 220
Eagles rush yds. vs. Giants: 157
Eagles 397
Cowboys 347
This debate shouldn't be about the Cowboys defense being the best that the Eagles have faced; it should be about the Cowboys offense being the best they have faced since facing the Saints. The Cowboys are behind only the Saints, in Yards Per Game, with 411. The Eagles are 15th, with 344. _________________
