This is the way things will at least start for the first few months imo. Great job covering all of the Summer League 1king. It was fun and a great learning experience watching these kids and talking with you all this week. Thank you,

I think that if they have not amnestied CV already that they are not going to do it at all until they are sure other teams will want to bid a decent amount for him. Or unless they need the roster spot.
Glad to see Daye doing well. They were obviously playing him a lot for a reason and he responded. Now, can he do that during the season?

He doesn't have a spot in the rotation and he doesn't have trade value. Amnesty him now. _________________

Maybe they're waiting to amnesty CV this off-season and go after 1 if not 2 big free agents as Maggette saves 14M CV would save 7M (if amnestied) and if they chose to let Maxiell go that's an expiring contract worth 5M. Very exciting if you couple that with a potential lottery draft choice. _________________

Really happy with how Drummond performed in the summer league. I know it's just the summer league but I think he's going to be just fine. _________________

I'd like to see Monroe and Drummond both in the starting lineup, and I assume that's what we'll see at the latest 1/4 into the season.
Excited for the season to start. Should be the most enjoyable for us since 07-08. _________________

Maggette gets paid 10.9m this year and will be a very valuable trade chip this season if someone unexpected becomes available.
CV gets paid 8m this season and has a player option for 8.5m next year. If he gets amnestied the Pistons are still on the hook for his salary less whatever another team signs him for. It does free up the salary cap a bit though. We don't know if Gores is willing to eat over 12m or so the Pistons would be required to pay.
Not sure who they would go after in the 13-14 offseason. There are some good players that will be FAs but not sure how many of them fit what the Pistons will need at that time. Knight, Stuckey, Monroe, and Drummond are all starters for the foreseeable future imo. That would leave the small forward position open for a new starter and among SF FAs there is nobody that seems that great.
Now if they were going after a center or either guard position there would be some awesome players available. I think the smart play for the Pistons is to develop their young talent and if possible and reasonable, acquire a player via trade during the season. |

Glad to see he isnt a stick at 260 pounds. My internet is wicked slow right now. How did he look in his highlights? Is he more offensively or defensively inclined? _________________

He seems athletic and can jump. The highlights were not too useful because it mostly featured dunks. Can he shoot? I guess we will find out at the Olympics since he is on the Ukrainian team. |

Well, hopefully we can see what he can do there. If someone has a chance to see him play, please let us know what we're in for _________________
