Offensive tackle Tarik Glenn will not be back to help the Indianapolis Colts defend their Super Bowl title, according to several people close to the 10-year veteran, choosing instead to retire.
Huge news for the Colts o-line this year if it does indeed happen. |

Darn, that sucks. He's a very good player who I think can still play for quite some time. But he's pretty much accomplished everything since winning the Super Bowl. Obviously though there are more important things than football.
Guess I shouldn't be too surprised though. It's probably a main reason Tony Ugoh was drafted. _________________

*Both starting corners
*Cato June
*Tarik Glenn
The Colts might be following in the footsteps of the Stellers by not making the playoffs after their Superbowl victory.
That's a lot to replace. |

marlin jackson, who imo can start and will be a stud
i didnt think cato was good, just a product of the small system they got going on there
Tony ugoh, who isnt as good as glenn, but can lessen the blow _________________

That's a lot to replace. | They may indeed have to score a lot to win quite a few games this season, but I still think they're too good of a team not to make the playoffs. Barring the lowest win total I could possibly see them having is 10. _________________

He's going to have to improve upon his 0% success rate in single coverage and allow a lot less than 9 yards per pass. Hopefully he grows into something special. _________________

Wow... I didn't expect that at all.
Very unfortunate for them that he did it so late. |

reaching and way overspending for OT Tony Ugoh makes a little more sense now. I thought they were crazy at the time. Giving up next years 1st rounder for him. They must've known it all along. _________________

And now ends the Ironman streak that will threaten Favre's soon.
Hey, I can hope, right?
This is a big blow for the Colts, as I don't have faith in Ugoh to step up. He was one of the draft prospects I really wanted the Pack to stay away from. _________________

Not good news for the Colts. Tarik Glenn was one of the top LTs in the game and I highly doubt a rookie (Tony Ugoh) will be able to step up and play well right away, let alone perform at Glenn's level. Their Super Bowl odds took a hit.
It is pretty late to decide to retire, it is close to training camp. _________________

Wasn't expecting this to happen. Most o-lineman have more than 10 years in the tank. This seems similar to the way Willie Roaf retired out of nowhere on the Chiefs last year. _________________

Considering that left tackle is arguably the 1st or 2nd most important position in football, this news is pretty big. But, since MAnning is one of the best ever, i think he'll be able to handle it. I dont Ugoh will be as much help as you guys think though since he's just a rookie from the second round; it's not like he's some super stud who should be able to step right in and play great. _________________
