What do you think, I think it'd be interesting if they extend the celebrations.

Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation has sent a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell seeking to host the NFL Draft. There are plans to make the event into a weeklong carnival with special events and even a Mardi Gras-style parade leading up to the NFL Draft. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is "committed to Radio City for next year's draft. Then we will review our options, including the possibility of taking the draft to other locations."

| I think eventually it will be good for the city. If people want to make the trip to the draft they can see how New Orleans has come along since Hurricane Katrina. It could be good for everyone. |

fCan you imagen all the die hard college football fans of the south would flock to NO for the draft, it would be crazy. The City of New Orleans and the NFL would make so much money just of the fans of the surrounding states, Texas, Alabama , Florida , Mississippi, Georgia, etc.... also the city with its charisma and celebration like atmosphere! _________________

That would be great for the city, NO's has always been a big place for tourism and it would be great for the rebuilding effort. _________________

I would love the idea as I live in Memphis, and Mardi Gras is the bomb. But I doubt it happens. Tradition over all. I don't like it but that's how it will be probably. I think it could help teams that are small market like the Jags.
What if it was in Atlanta?? Would there be a FreakNik parade???? HAHA _________________

Just don't bring it to Philly.
The Eagles never cease to surprise us, from McNabb to Kolb, we are never happy with the picks.
[although we are proved wrong]
Some one could have gotten hurt. _________________

Go ahead and drink up.
Just because a city wants to help get some more traffic and people coming though, which is much needed right now to increase the city's economy, you don't need to come here and hate. Take your trolling somewhere else please. _________________

I have been there since the crap storm. That place is cleaner and smells better than it has in decades. Call it heartless call it hating, I just dont see the point in dumping more money into a city thats below sea level and could very well face the same storm in just a matter of years. If I built a town on a volcanic island people would not feel bad for me, they would say look at this moron who lost everything because he built his house on a volcanoe. Sorry people are hurting right now, but I dont feel a responsibility whatsoever to send money that way. _________________

New Orleans is now half the population of what it was before the storm. It is a city struggling, but it is doing it's best. Having the NFL Draft, one of the most anticipated events in the football world there, would be a great idea for the city. The media attention, money, and such would be great for the city of New Orleans.
However, I don't think we should be commenting too much more on this subject. It will get into politics, among other issues. This is something very dear to many people and a touchy subject like this, we should shy away from, especially in a forum that it has nothing to do with.
Let's all stay on topic.
Should the NFL Draft stay in NYC or be able to go to multiple cities? |

The Super Bowl can move...why not the draft location? Let other cities get in on the fun! Like mentioned earlier, the SEC areas would probably eat this up. In NO, I could imagine LSU fans turning it into an awesome tailgating event. College fans everywhere would be out in full force I think. _________________
