In my opinion, the best thing for the Raiders is to allow McCown to start. Because whoever does start will have the other breathing right down his neck, waiting for the slightest error so he can play.. And you know fans will be jumping on the other guys banwagon as soon as the starter makes some errors. So Culpepper will be able to come in as the "savior" rather than the guy that may or may not be better than the 2nd stringer.

Lane Kiffin should take a page from Lovie Smith. If you're gonna start a guy, make him your starter, belive in him and let him know he has your full confidence. If not, start the other guy.

Conflicting stories and I really don't know what to believe. I would personally go with Culpepper though.

Can the Raiders do anything right i dont think they run espn or nfl.com so they arent the ones making up the rumors...

Kiffin already told the two QB's who the starter will be. Why does the media need to know? What, so they can kill the decision? You know there will be a problem with whatever decision is made.

I'd rather see Culpepper. And McCown didn't lead a TD drive the entire preseason while DC had four.

Culpepper looked better but McCown did lead 2 TD drives they were both rushing TD.

Don't you all see it?

He's going to name Jamarcus Russell the starting QB. This whole "holdout" thing has just been a big smokescreen so that come Sunday, Detroit won't know what hit them. They'll sign him 5 mins before gametime.

Wouldn't that be something?? Haven't named the starting C either, though the team was told today who the QB would be.

Ya it totally McCown who's starting, but hopefully only week 1. Seems like they are giving DC time to learn the playbook/players and get his conditon perfect for WEEK 2
