Press conference just finished on ESPN..
Doctors said he's doing better, but is currenty sedated and on a respirator. They said they also fear for his life, and there is a very small chance of him ever walking again.
One of the saddest things I've ever heard.
My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. _________________ If the Raiders don't trade back at 3, I want Fisher, Ziggy, or Star. |

Just heard the same thing on ESPN,and yes the phrase "doctors still fear for his life" was used.
Very very bad news.
I hope everyone prays for him and his family. |

A very sad moment. I wish him the best and my prayers are with him. They ever said J.R. Reed would walk again either, but hopefully somehow this man can overcome it and hopefully even stay alive from some of these reports. _________________

I wish him and his family the best! A very very scary moment. Hopefully nothing like this happens again this season, or for that matter, any season. I will definitely pray for him and his family. _________________

thats a great sig... I hope he stays alive.
My grandmother just passed away... she was on a respirator just like he is, but she never woke up. So this story is hitting pretty close to home.
God Bless. _________________ If the Raiders don't trade back at 3, I want Fisher, Ziggy, or Star. |

Yeah, nice sig, CT. You're a class act. I too hate how dangerous this sport is, and as I did in the other Kevin Everett thread, I question my own support of such a violent game. I am not a fan of boxing for that exact reason. I find it too brutal and don't want to support something that so easily could end a young persons life. The truth is, its quite amazing that there aren't more cases like this. These guys are HUGE and the primary aim, for many of them, is to cream their opponent. Its brutal. _________________ "22 players are involved in every football play. To value precisely the activity of one of them, it is first necessary to account for the actions of the other 21" |

You hate to see this happen to anyone. I mean this player is living his dream of playing pro football and then this happens. My thoughts and prayers go to him, his family and friends, and the bills organization. _________________

This is absolutely tragic. No two ways about it.
My deepest condolences to Everett, his family and the entire Bills organization. _________________
