4.65 and 4.68 at his pro day. Doesn't have the speed to be a CB

He is the 63rd player on Mel Kiper's big board and 9th CB

He has him above guys like Ali Marpet, Duke Johnson, Bernard McKinney, TJ Yeldon, Dorial Green Beckham, Hau'oli Kikaha, Ameer Abdullah, P.J. Williams, and Nate Orchard.

He has him not far behind guys like T.J. Clemmings, Shaq Thompson, Quentin Rollins, Stephone Anthony, La'El Collins, and Jake Fisher.

He looks pretty good in his tape. Not necessarily the most explosive athlete but he's long, he's physical, has high character and excels in press coverage. Great value at this spot and I think could be one of the steals of the draft. His film looks about 2nd/3rd round. His 40 drops him down. Could be somebody to watch

Chip explaining taking 2 DBs in the 6th, takes jab at howie again:

Quote:
“If you look at the history, and I studied the history here, they haven’t drafted a lot of DBs in the last 10 years,” Kelly said. “We need to develop those guys and try not to rely on free agency to go out and get those guys. We had to because of the situation we were in. We hope to continue to get defensive backs through the draft and develop them.”

Said he had a hamstring injury when he ran his 40s and normally runs in 4.4s. Kelly said his play time is much faster

I think Eric Rowe will play safety and JaCorey will compete with Thurmond to play outside.
