Yes, announcing on Saturday the signing of Saturday, and D. Muir, certainly contradicts their demure approach to free agency.

2 yrs/$7.5 million for Saturday. Pretty modest deal, at 37 yrs old, Saturday likely doesnt have much in the tank but it gives GB a chance to draft a young center this year to groom for the next couple of seasons.

His leadership on the line should do wonders for some of the younger guys they have.

Muir should add a nice rotation to that Dline. Keep em healthy.

and Saturday is one of the best Centers in the game. GB just needs to draft a young guy to eventually replace him.

But along the lines of what others said, what is this? The Packers signing Free Agents?

The Packers sent out a statement confirming tackle Chad Clifton’s release on Monday afternoon.

As reported earlier, Clifton failed a physical after back surgery leading to his release from the team. Clifton spent 12 years with the team and trails only Forrest Gregg on the franchise list for most games played by an offensive tackle.

Very impressive career! How many OL can boast of having blocked for Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and A-rod?

That's hilarious. Laughing

Of course you know they're just signing them so they can trade them for draft picks, right?

On a more current note, how long before someone on here recommends we bring in Clifton for a one year deal.

I was going to suggest this, but we should wait until he is healthy enough to play. Also, his salary wouldn't be guaranteed if he were signed after the season started, right?

Citing a source, Bill Huber of Packer Report reports that the Packers and Browns have discussed a trade that would send quarterback Colt McCoy to Green Bay.

McCoy is being shopped after the Browns used the 22nd overall pick in last night’s first round on Brandon Weeden. Weeden is tentatively projected as the Browns’ new Week One starter. His backup would be Seneca Wallace.

Brad is quick to dismiss QB's he didnt hand pick. I like Colt McCoy and would stick with him, but I guess a pick now is worth more than waiting for him.

Packers receiver Donald Driver is willing to take a pay cut to stay in Green Bay, but that doesn’t mean the Packers will bring him back, at any salary.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy and General Manager Ted Thompson both declined to say this weekend whether Driver will be back with the team after his Dancing with the Stars stint is over.

If he still wants to play, Minnesota could always upgrade. Of course, that means we get rid of Aromashadu (he may already be cut soon enough) or Michael Jenkins.

But the best part of that would be how some fans react seeing Driver in purple. Best of both worlds for Minnesota. Laughing

The only thing is that Driver has declined dramatically. According to Pro Football Focus, he had one of the highest drop rates in the entire NFL, even worse then Devin Aromashadu Sad
