But the best part of that would be how some fans react seeing Driver in purple. Best of both worlds for Minnesota. |
There is no fit for Driver at this point. He has always been an underneath possession type, he doesnt really add to the Vikings anyway, and at this point, its more prudent to get young players like Simpson, Wright and Childs the playing time they need to actually develop into meaningful players. I think Driver adds solid value to a veteran team contending who could use a receiver, but Driver's skills have greatly trailed off, im not sure he offers much to anybody to be honest. |

The spin coming out of Cleveland claims that Colt McCoy is competing with rookie Brandon Weeden and veteran Seneca Wallace for the Browns’ starting quarterback job. The reality is that McCoy is on the trade block, and Weeden will be the Week One starter, with Wallace backing him up. The Browns hope to “spare McCoy the ignominy of being released,” and “will not demand much in a trade.”
On the second day of the draft, Bill Huber of Packer Report reported that the Browns and Packers discussed a trade that would send McCoy to Green Bay. While those talks were since put on hold, they could be rekindled at some point before or during training camp. And it shouldn’t cost the Packers much.

Donald Driver would certainly not provide any upgrade for the Vikings. I'm surprised he's still in the league, considering he's essentially been a non-factor for the Packers for 2 years running. He's had his day, he's done.
As far as Colt McCoy, I think he'd be a good fit in Green Bay, behind Rodgers. He certainly wouldn't be a good fit here. _________________

Though he defended the play of backup quarterback Graham Harrell, Packers coach Mike McCarthy remained noncommittal about his comfort level with him as Aaron Rodgers’ primary backup.
Harrell had an uneven performance in Thursday’s preseason game against Cleveland. He completed just 12 of 24 passes for 100 yards — nearly half of which came on fourth-quarter completions of 24 and 25 yards to receiver Jarrett Boykin — and threw two interceptions without a touchdown pass.
Through two preseason games in which Harrell has seen extensive playing time, he has completed just 52.9 percent of his passes, has one touchdown and two interceptions and a passer rating of 55.6.

PhillyMag.com reports the Chiefs, Patriots, Packers and Browns have all shown interest in former Eagles QB Mike Kafka. It doesn't sound like the 2010 fourth-round pick is going to make it through waivers unclaimed. We should know his new home by this evening.
CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora is reporting the Dolphins are in talks to move last season’s starter, Matt Moore, to another team. The Arizona Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers are rumored to be the two main teams involved in these discussions.
then...
Packers were not awarded any players on waivers. Source said they did not make any claims. _________________

After last nights performance, Clay Matthews already has 6 sacks. Jared better get the ball rolling if he wants to be the sack champ. _________________

I'm a little disappointed that teams haven't done a better job accounting for him. I hope the Vikings aren't that foolish. _________________

On Tuesday, the Packers had wide receiver Greg Jennings back at practice and coach Mike McCarthy said that the team was expecting him to play on Monday night against the Seahawks. That outlook might have changed. Jennings isn’t practicing Thursday and McCarthy’s assessment of his condition probably won’t fill any Packers fans with optimism about Jennings’ condition.
McCarthy: “He worked the other day and it didn’t go as well as we thought. I’m curious to see how he goes today. It’s been up and down. I know he’s frustrated and he doesn’t feel like he has a handle on it yet.”

| Wow. That last play should've been a pick or offensive PI. Hate to see them lose because of bad officiating. Well.... Hate is a strong word. I love that the Packers lost, but I hate that they have a legitimate case of being screwed by the officials. Exciting game though. |

Yeah a pretty ridiculous call. I would be very upset if I were a Packer fan. If the NFL can watch this weekends performance and not do everything poosible to get the original refs back. They don't care enough about football. _________________

the bigger picture is that GB had a lot of chances to win that game outright, but couldn't seal the deal. so they were left to betting on chance and luck.
and it didn't bounce their way. _________________
