| Quote: | | Who might want Reds OF Adam Dunn: Mets, Astros, Dodgers, Indians. Suggested trade: To the Dodgers for Chad Billingsley, Edwin Jackson and Yhency Brazoban. The Dodgers are one of the majors' deepest organizations, their GM Paul DePodesta has a track record that he will trade, Los Angeles badly needs a bat and Dunn is a classic Moneyball player, and DePodesta's DNA is filled with Moneyball, which also means he is not afraid to trade a closer and create another from within the system. Billingsley is one of the minors' top pitching prospects. Jackson was, but has faded badly. Brazoban becomes the Reds' closer or can easily be flipped to a bullpen-hungry contender for another starting prospect. |

I'm going to the Reds/Dodgers game on July 27th, and I was planning on doing an extensive scouting report on Adam Dunn, in person. This makes me want to do it more.
However, if the Dodgers do that deal, it would be stupid on their part. Don't trade three great pitching prospects for one big bat who tends to strikeout a lot. Bad move for the Dodgers. _________________

Good I'm not the only one that thought that trade was extremely ludicrous. |

wow, that is a pretty bad trade for the Dodgers. Billingsley looks really promising and Edwin Jackson just needs more time to get things sorted out with his game. The Dodgers could be trading away 2 guys that might be able to take them to the playoffs on their play alone in a few years (if they develop correctly). It would be a terrible trade for them if it went through. _________________
