The Capitals clinched the Southeastern division last night, despite losing to Buffalo in overtime.

And last night they clinched the 2nd seed in the East. I really hope they can get cranked up for the playoffs because they've been sleep walking through these last couple of games against non-playoff opponents. They've won the last 3 by playing 1 decent period in each game. Outta be interesting to see the difference next week.

2 wins from the ECF... where would we be without Ovy and Varlamov thus far in the postseason? Gotta love it.

You know you're getting into the other team's head when they start taking cheap shots like this against you.

Both have been great. Varlamov has been playing lights out so far. Ovie is leading the offensive attack. Nice hat trick yesterday. Definately has played better since the start of the Rangers series.

So now after complaining about the hats on the ice for Ovie's hat trick, not only are the Penguins complaining about missed interference goals, but Marc-Andre Fluery is suggesting that Ovechkin is using an illegal curve in his stick. Unbelievable.

And who exactly would you like to bring up in their place?

Anyone who can collect a rebound and clear a puck would work for me. Smile

I actually said to my two other Caps fan friends I was watching the game with, that if the Caps were going to score in the extra session, that it was going to be Dave Steckel that scored the GW. It just made sense to me, thinking it would be a gritty American guy who ended our playoff OT scoring drought, knowing that the man from Potomac, Jeff Halpern, another gritty American, had been the last Cap to score a playoff OT goal, in that very same building.

Hell of a series. Hell of a team. Hell of a run. Hopefully, they can keep it going. 4-0 in elimination games thus far in the postseason... these aren't your daddy's Caps.

Crosby and Malkin will be skating scared in Game 7 with Brashear back out there.

Just going to bring the energy and excitment levels up even higher with that guy around. Can't wait to watch it. This is what Playoff Hockey is all about Cool
