According to league sources the Chiefs have targeted Cardinals offensive coordinator Todd Haley as the next team head coach.

http://www.philly.com/dailynews/sports/20090123_Paul_Domowitch__Westbrook_needs_a_running_mate_with_Eagles.html

*Haley was hired by the Cardinals in 2007 after working for the Cowboys for two seasons.

Haley is the hot name right now with the Cardinals explosive offense doing a great job in the playoffs against defenses like Panthers and Eagles.

I think it would be a good hire.

That was quick. Not out of left field but quick nonetheless.

Haley can't interview next week though can he?

I've heard about this for a while and even saw an article on ESPN about it. The article was removed the next day. Maybe I was just seeing things.

With Pioli being Parcells' son-in-law, and Haley a former coach under The Tuna I can't say that this is surprising. I had hopes we'd retain him a few years back, but wish him the best of luck in Kansas City.

Can't say I'm a fan of Haley, but it wouldn't be a bad hire.

HORRIBLE hire if this is true. Just look at what he did to a good TO in Dallas and now with Qu + Warner in Arizona. Definitely not a people person.

Umm last time i checked they are in the Super Bowl so whatever he did it seems to be working. If the Super Bowl is what i have to worry about when hiring him, please bring him to Oakland.

This would be a great hire! The Chiefs are doing ALL the right things this offseason...now for some big name FA signings...

Larry did credit him for helping making him an even better WR.

Yes because every team would rather have coaches that pampers players than coaches who turn players into even better players Rolling Eyes

Won't they have to interview a black guy at some point still?

Whoever the poor guy is will be nothing more than a puppet.

So it's Haley or Shanahan, but another man gets put through the process without a shot at the job?

Name a WR that doesn't credit his OC.

I think he is a good Offensive Coordinator especially considering that his Oline isn't great (to establish a running game). His play calling on the last drive last week was simply genius.

I just don't think he is ready to be a head coach with his personality.
