The lions would have to have a NT to change to a 3-4 D, and they traded away Rogers last offseason. I don't see why Foote couldn't be a MLB in a 4-3 D.

He is not athletic enough to play the pass the way MLB do in the 4-3. He is a run stuffer pure and simple.

Foote will most likely be gone. Lawrence Timmons is too talented not to have on the field. I'm not sure how he fits in the 4-3, but he would ideal for San Diego or Miami, if they do not retain Channing Crowder. Hell even Dallas should look into this guy if they do not land Ray Lewis, which is unlikely given that Ray Ray would most likely kill TO within 10 minutes of sharing the same locker room; not saying that'd be a bad thing.

i agree i could really see him in San Diego or Miami. I could also see him in Greenbay i have heard AJ Hawk is not strong enough at the point of attack and can't take on OL the way a 3-4 ILB should. Im not a Greenbay fan so i dont know how true that really is.

San Diego already have run stopping ILB that are liabilities in coverage...

I don't think he'd be a good fit at all for the Lions... the Packers would be a much more likely destination for him, IMO. We could do with a veteran like him who has experience in a 3-4, at least to play a rotational role at ILB.

Wow this would add a solid pressence on our D. By the sounds of it i can see this happening, i dont want to get to excited but i think it would be best for foote and the lions, being a detroit native and wanting to help in his community.

Channing Crowder is and would be the better option because he can play in both the 4-3 and 3-4 defense. Not to mention he is three years younger.

Foote could play OLB in the 4-3 as well.
