Talent like that isn't left on the bench even if you are a true freshman.

Mustain is probably clear out of the race anyway...

Yes, Stafon Johnson will be the starter again, but that really doesn't mean much. Whoever is doing good will get his carries. Johnson, Joe McKnight, C.J Gable, and many more will have their shot to make plays at the running back position.

Southern California is home to several of the top defensive backs in the 2010 recruiting class and the USC Trojans just received a commitment from one of the very best in Lakewood safety Dion Bailey.

PC does love DBs. Not a big name, but talent nonetheless, I'll take it.

Anybody else worried about the linebackers this year? We keep hearing that they're ready to go, they're faster than last year, and Malcolm Smith has been the spring star but I'm not sure if that speed comes at the expense of strength. I'm just not sure how well any of the three can just halt a runner/lead blocker like Cush, Rivers, and ReyRey could.

I guess in my mind I'm wondering what if this team goes to the NC and has to take on Tebow. We could catch him, but could we stop him?

what do you guys think about Marc Tyler out of Oaks Christian? I remember I was glad I didn't have to play them two years ago when they played our crosstown rivals and scored like, 8 td's on em

game was ugly

and Marc was making dudes look stupid

If it weren't for McKnight, Johnson, Gable, and Bradford in front of him he'd be a starter and nobody would be worried about the RB position. As it is I think he's pushing for starting time this year. He's possibly the most well rounded RB on the team, but the RB position is SO deep that minutes are very hard to come by.

Stafon Johnson, CJ Gable, Joe McKnight, Allen Bradford, Marc Tyler, and Curtis McNeal. Seriously, that's just sick talent. And by the way we've got 2 more rivals 100 commitments coming in at that position (and I think Seastrunk could come here too)

As anticipated, Jesse Scroggins has committed to USC. No link yet but it was on College Football Live (EDIT: http://usc.scout.com/2/881021.html). Given that he sounds kind of unpolished and is only a year behind Barkley, I see him redshirting. He's a 4* according to rivals.com, the 99th ranked player in the nation, and the #3 pro-style QB.

Quote:
"Overall, Scroggins is an impressive guy that is only going to get better with added experience. Has the upside to be one of the better QB's to come out of this class. He can really throw the football, but isn't a one-dimensional pocket passer."
