Tough loss for everybody involved, but I'm proud of USC for sticking to their agreement and giving him the scholarship _________________

Probably not. Shareece Wright started as the corner opposite Cary Harris before he got hurt, and then it was Josh Pinkard and Kevin Thomas at the CB position. Pinkard is a more natural safety and should take the starting safety spot vacated by kevin Ellison, leaving Kevin Thomas as the shoe-in for the other starting safety spot. Bryant could take the nickel, though Pinkard could also be a CB in the nickel given that Will Harris is fine backup at safety. _________________

I am not even much a USC fan, but I had to laugh at that comment. _________________

I don't think it's such an absurd thought. It's possible ND comes in 4-1 or 5-0 (Nevada, @Michigan, Michigan St, @Purdue, and Washington) so this could be their chance to really solidify a BCS spot or at least show they are back. They'll also be looking to avenge themselves after USC embarrassed them last year. Add in the inherent rivalry and this ND team is going to be looking to kill us. Futhermore USC, like ND, has a week off before the match-up leading into this game, having to travel to Cal. If the ND we saw versus Hawaii comes out, we could be in for a good game.
In the end though, ND I believe will be weak in the trenches. Their o-line was horrific last year and they lack a run game. I can't even name one player on their d-line. Our o-line should completely control the game, while at worst I say our d-line vs. their o-line is a push. If the d-line wins that Claussen will have no chance to get the ball out to those riches they have at receiver and will be a blowout. Big if though. I'd put USC's chances right now at about 80% of winning. _________________

Corp's not winning by much though, I can tell you that. Corp being held out of practice after a minot injury certainly isn't helping. _________________

Chances are very very good. We have dropped off just a bit on offense and defense, but we are still much more talented than Notre Lame. The game is in South Bend so they will get a little boost from that, but we should handle them without too much difficulty. |

i'm amazed how few USC fans are on this site. but thanks for your input. My friend is a huge notre dame homer (to the point where it's not healthy). And I put money on the game, obviously picking USC. But, I could see clausen and those receivers putting up some numbers this year and I wanted to know what you guys thought.
I know some posters ridiculed me earlier for posing this question, but this might be the year Charlies Weis's top 5 recruiting classes start to develop. So I was just wondering what you SC fans thoughts on the current USC squad might be. I know you guys recruit the best, but you lost a lot too. I was just wondering if the inexperience might catch up. Also a quarterback can make or break a team, so is this barkley or corp going to be able to handle it this year?
by the way thanks chillparsi1 for giving a very insightful post. |

5-Star WR Robert Woods commits to USC.
Good pickup for Pete Carrol and staff. Alot of people thought UCLA and Cal were out in front for him.

Wow, that is surprising, but this is very cool surprise. I thought for sure he would be going to Cal.

Just going over some data and Dude!, USC with 44 seniors! That's a ton of BCS experience! That's 39 more sr then what BSU has. _________________
