Raptors are stool trying to go after Pau Gasol. They're trying to package Bargs, anderson, fields, and filler.
Would be a good move for the expiring contact next year.
Colangelo is ok with the luxury tax if its for the right player(s) _________________

Not even the worst GM would take 6 years, $62 million worth of Andrea Bargnani and Landry Fields for Pau Gasol. Toronto would literally have to kidnap Mitch Kupchak's family to get him to do that. _________________

Both teams are gunning for the 8th seed. This one would help the Lakers out more than the Raptors though.
Edit: In the short run that is. I think Bargnani would thrive with the Lakers, but they'd have a lot of money committed through the next few years. The Raptors could get an upgrade for this season in Pau (depends on which one shows up), but it's obviously more about about the cap room. They would have Pau's bird rights though. _________________

Wouldn't this destroy the Lakers financial flexibility in the summer of 2014? _________________

Yes, but the Lakers have always been know for making big trades. They could unload some assets that way. Plus, if they re-sign Dwight this summer, that will hurt the flexibility a bit too. _________________

Lakers still have no interest in any package built around Andrea Bargnani. Aside from the fact that his contract goes past the 2013/14 season which is an issue, he's having an AWFUL season. _________________

^There isn't enough room for Fields and Vinny del Negro in one city.

Yeah, I don't see the Lakers making this deal. _________________
