I'm picking up the game again and hopefully a lot better than in the past, I just wanted to know who else plays, what clubs you're using, and whatever.
I'll start off saying well, I'm a beginner.
This is my set, it's one of those starter ones, but it's actually pretty good.

I am adding to that a Ping Karsten Anser putter, it's known as the best putter under $100 and I have felt it (not played) and it seems like a great putter. People say how they trade in their $200+ putters to just use the Anser. It has a classic design, and ebay sure is a good source for clubs. You can save some money there if you haven't tried yet.
After I get better I'll get a new driver and an iron set like the Nike slingshots or something.

I'd say I'm a fairly good golfer, I have Taylormade XD Irons(4-sw), cleveland 60 degree, Odessy white hot putter(malet style), Callawa ERC-3 driver 8.5 degree, a Mizuno 3 wood, and a Mizuno hybrid 3 Iron. I also carry a Walmart 3 wood to throw when I hit a bad shot, instead of my nice clubs. SLCDallasFan can confirm this lol _________________

I hurt my thumb last year and couldn't play the last month of the season...then, this year I find out that I have a torn labrum in my shoulder and probably am not going to be able to swing a club until late summer.
I use a Titleist 905 driver (9.5 degree), Orlimar Trimetal 3 and 5 woods, Nike CCI forged irons, Titleist Vokey 52 and 56 degree wedges, and a Titleist Scotty Cameron putter. ProV1x balls. 11 handicap. _________________

Probably better suited for the other sports forum
however golf, god how frustrating it is when you start out. You see people around you hitting great long shots, and you can barely hit the ball, while thinking "I'm just hitting a ball!!! How hard can it be!!!!"
But when you get better and more relaxed it is a great game to play, spend an hour or so casually walking around a golf course with friends. I gave it up as i couldn't afford the membership and i didn't have much time. I have two friends who love the game, one is playing off a handicap of 6, the other 4. _________________

| It's great though when you start to pick it up yourself some and hit a few good shots more frequently. It's frustrating, but you just have to leave that out as much as possible. For me it's not the frustration, but when 5 other guys are swinging and hitting good shots and you start to struggle it's slightly embarrassing. But you just got to work through it. |

Yep, I played highschool golf and had to play with a kid coined by Tiger Woods dad as "The next Tiger Woods" It was one of the most intimidating moments of my life, the worst part was the kid was younger than me! He was unreal, 350 off the tee and would stick it close if within 200 yards. _________________

Aww now this is my kind of thread I started golfing 3-4 months ago and i LOVE it. I bought some Warrior Custom Clubs from a dead guy and i really like them. I only golf 9 holes at a time for money reasons and its a PAR 36 course. The best I ever shot was 49, my average is 50-53. So im obviously still working at it. but it's great fun. _________________

I usually only play 9 and will shoot in the high 40s to low 50s but every once in a while I'll have myself a day and shoot low 40s. Best round was a 39 on a par 36. Everything went right that day. I have a set of mediocre clubs but they get the job done for how often I play. I just got a hybrid 3 iron and love the thing. Finally started hitting my driver straight too. _________________

I had an epic chip the other day from about 25 feet - the green slopped down close to 8 feet and I got the chip to land right before the slop - and the hill took it to within a couple inches of the hole.
Now if only it had gone in. _________________
