Everybody is saying that we will amnesty Haywood.

Like or Dislike the move?

I think it would be a brilliant move

I agree.

Btw, you got any scoop on Anthony Parker? Is he looking for a new contract with Cleveland, or is he ready to leave and contribute elsewhere?

I'd like him a lot on the Mavs.

I hope he leaves tbh

He sucks

lol. I want him as a role player on a deep team, which I think we will almost always be. Depends on JET though. If he leaves, then our depth will take a hit.

Parker defending the wing and shooting 3s next to Deron, Marion, and Dirk. Not bad. I kind of like it. Hopefully we can get Dwight to make me love it tho Wink

You guys think we could trade Odom at the draft?

Odom, our 2nd this year, $3 million cash to the Kings for their 2nd this year.

might be too good for the kings to turn down.

Carter oughtta be back for sure. He's guaranteed $1M whether they pick up the option or not, so you have to view that as dead money and ask yourself, "Is he worth $2M?" I say, "Absolutely."

Miles I'm a little torn. I like his game, but Marion, Carter, and Azubuike are probably all here next year, and they could draft a guy like Ross or Waiters. Should that all come to fruition, they shouldn't have interest in a wing that isn't any better than those guys. OTOH, if they amnesty Haywood, they'll just have Wright, who couldn't even get minutes in the playoffs.

Of course, they could decline Carter's option and trade Marion, in which case they'd desperately need a 3. I think the team's offseason has got to be to get D-Will at all costs and figure it out from there.

I think we should be aggressive in the draft and try to get Meyers Leonard by moving up a few spots. We could do that by throwing a combination of Roddy, DoJo, cash, Vince, Odom, and our first in the trade. Not all at once of course, but that'd be nice if we could. Laughing Wink

so after Deron, option B might be to get BOTH Nash and Garnett.

I'd love that actually.

So they're swapping a few million of their cap space to move down in the draft? Seems unlikely. I'd fathom a guess that Dallas would get a heavily protected future second round pick, one that they likely wouldn't ever receive, if they're giving Odom to Sacramento. The Mavericks certainly aren't getting an early second round pick in return.

Mavs 1st this year and a future 1st plus Odom/Azubukie for Gortat if we can't get a higher pick for him. Amnesty Heywood and sign D-Will.

Well second round picks are largely worthless, heck teams even sell first round picks for cash (It's how the Mavs got Dominique Jones). But yeah, Dallas would probably "receive" something that they'll never actually earn, be it a 2020 heavily protected 2nd round pick or the rights to a foreign guy who will never come over.

We'd essentially be paying Sacramento $600,000 to move down in the 2nd and we would be doing them a favor by helping them reach the cap floor.

It's wishful thinking, but not all that bad. Makes sense actually.

Yeah, that's more likely. Sad

I'd much rather draft Leonard this year, but I wouldn't mind that at all.

They'd probably want Wright tho since he is long, athletic, and can run the floor, which is something that team likes to do.

Looks like Deron might not happen.

Ok. Here is my scenerio. I am in a NBA GM league. I drafted Dirk in the 2nd round to pait with Dwight Howard. I know Dirk played some SF early in his career but do you think he has the ability to play the SF position through an entire NBA season. I would really like to keep him at PF but their are not many really good SF left and there are a bunch of PF available. Do you think I should move Dirk.

Absolutely not. He's strictly a 4.

Edit: You learn that pretty quickly in fantasy drafts. This league is stacked at power forward.
