if the raiders were smart i think they would jus spend there whole draft on Def. whats most important for the raiders i think is to get a great D line.
if the raiders can get consistent persuit frm there Dline it would open up everything and make it alot easier for our secondary. So drafting some good fast young DE and DT's would be huge. our Dline isnt too bad, but too get a fresh rotation out there with no drop off would be huge. i think drafting one DE and a DT would be awesome (or finding one off Free agency.) plus even tho they have been doin good; sapp, washington and hamilton arent gettin any younger. i think they would be even better if they were rotated in and out with some young physical guys
2nd most imprtant thing would be LB. THe oakland D was hurting for that 3rd LB all season which caused them to play nickle most of the time. Brayton is not a LB.. one question..... next season if Sam williams is healthy for once would he play DE or LB? if the raiders can get 3 good LBs back there either in draft or FA they could be good.
and lastly the raiders need a big hard hitting safety. if they raiders can draft one it would be like havin an extra LB out there, and could help ALOT with the run!
frm watchin the raiders all season; when healthy the oakland d was jus a couple players away from being great.
LB can eaily be the most improtant thing and taken first (if hawk is available). but in my opinion i like havin that agressive front 4 gettin all the pressure by itself. what do u guys think about all this? |

| I think they should draft LenDale White if hes still there, hes a big powerful runner, I think if you guys upgraded your offense you could compete in the AFC WEST. |

The Raiders need depth on the offensive line and at running back. I also wouldn't mind seeing us pick up a fullback in the mold of Lorenzo Neal (if there are any like that in the draft).
But yes, the defense needs help in a lot of areas. OLB is the rather obvious #1 need. |

if he falls to our 2nd round pick i would support the raiders picking him (but he will most likely be picked in the 1st round) _________________

I think OLB and S are big needs.
Williams at DE wouldn't be a bad choice. |

I think the point of the post is half right.
I mean it would be great to have a great defense but we sorely need to upgrade the offensive line too.
At least on D we have the league leader in sacks.
Belliceck (sp) has proved that
1. and 1a to winning a championship are protecting your QB and Killing the other QB.
WE have better receivers and CBs than the Pats during their run but there O line has protected Brady immaculately. During their 10-0 run I bet he's been sacked 6 times. |

it would be stupid to spend the entire draft on D. I think we need to spend our top two picks on D but after that I think the next two need to go Offense.
With our First pick we need to get either an OLB, DE, or S
With our 2nd pick we need to get one of the other two positions that wasn't the first rounder
With our 3rd OL
With our 4th RB
With our 5th DT, OL, LB, FB
With our 6th DE, OL, LB, TE, FB
With our 7th DE, OL, LB, TE, FB,
But to spend an entire draft on one side of the ball would be stupid for this team with some glaring holes on both sides. |
