*Trade: The Chicago Bears trade 2[36] to the Tampa Bat Bucs for 2[50] and 3[84]. [Dalvin Cook]

*Trade: The Chicago Bears trade 2[50] to the Seattle Seahawks for 2[58], 4[111].
[CB Kevin King]

2[58] WR Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster [USC] 6'1" 215lbs.

The Bears world is now about Mitch Trubisky and that means they need to protect him and provide weapons that maximize his skill set. Trubisky is a nice fit for the Bears timing west coast offense, but that requires WRs that can generate after the catch. I envision Ju-Ju in the slot like Bolden. He is built like a RB and runs like one once he has the ball. If you start the development process right now he should be over his growing pains by 2018 when he needs to be a legit weapon for Trubisky.

3[84] CB Rasaul Douglas [West Virginia] 6'2" 207lbs.

I am a Douglas fan and I think his 8 picks last season flash the ball skills that make up for lacking elite speed. His size and length and physicality are perfect for Fangio's system and he gives the Bears someone to develop behind Prince and provide long term depth and development.

4[111] S Tedric Thompson [Colorado] 6' 205lbs.

With Hall and Bush at safety the Bears have some interesting players back there but they need to continue to add playmakers. Thompson is not an elite tackler, he is going to have to bulk up and get better at that, but his ball skills are incredible. 16 PD and 7 INTs last season, which the Bears need.

4[117] DE Vincent Taylor [Oklahoma St] 6'3" 308lbs.

The Bears need DL depth and Taylor has the size and length [34.5" arms] that Fangio favors. Despite his body type he had 4 sacks last season and has a little more wiggle and burst than you would think. The Bears need a more effective rotation and Taylor gives them another option.

5[147] OT Brad Seaton [Villanova] 6'9" 320lbs.

An incredibly big and athletic prospect that is raw and needs time to develop, but the Bears need to start the process of improving at OT and Seaton gives them a player with starting upside, more than likely at RT. The Bears need to protect Trubisky and to do that effectively you cannot run out of OTs.

7[220] WR Mack Hollins [UNC] 6'4" 223lbs.

This is partly aboout making Trubisky feel more comfortable and partly about getting Bellamy the hell of the team. Hollins is bigger and faster than Bellamy and has been a strong special teams player for UNC and he may have some upside as a WR, which Bellamy has none.

I honestly don't see Pace trading down to get more ammo. I think if he gets the right player he will stand pat at the second and get pull a trigger.

I think we really need a CB or S in the second who can be a day 1 starter.

If he can trade down and still get Awuzie, King or Wilson, I'd be excited. FWIW, you meant "Day 2 *and* 3 Mock" if you're going to include rounds 5 and 7 Wink

I think 2 things will help the Bears move down

1. Tons of teams with more picks that they can keep on their roster.

2. The ability to trade compensatory picks.

We saw a ton of action in the 2nd round last year. I do think 1 move down is more realistic.

I thought you couldn't trade compensatory picks?

My thoughts on Juju. I really want to call him John though because saying Juju makes me feel special.

Very consistent stats
Very consistent hands-looks like he catches the ball cleanly with his hands
Decent route runner
Kinda unspectacular after the catch

Wouldn't be a bad #2 but we have a team full of #2s

You can now. Recently.

I still think the value in round 2 is in drafting a CB or S. Surrounding Trubisky with weapons is one way to protect him but having a great defense helps too.

Still think we should draft a TE or pass catching RB.

I like the 4th round...not sold not he 2nd or 3rd...Pace said we have to be brave and those two guys are nothing more than solid...let's keep swinging at guys who bring special traits.

My guess is the Bears take Jordan Willis if they stay at 36. Pace likely got a good look at Willis last year while he extensively scouted Whitehair, and if they truly liked Solomon Thomas, you have to think that they like Willis as they both have never-ending motors.

I may be in the minority here but I don't think this teams needs to go WR early, or even at all for the remainder of this draft, so as you can imagine I'm not a huge fan of this mock.
