Barrett Ruud - LB - Texans
Free agent LB Barrett Ruud worked out for the Bears on Wednesday.
Ruud bounced around three different teams in a reserve role last season. Going on 30, Ruud recorded 12 tackles and a sack for the Texans in 2012. He would provide veteran depth for Chicago's depleted linebacker core.

I remember him being food with Tampa a few years back. He'd be good veteran depth, as the blurb says.

Like Ruud for our scheme and would give us reasonable insurance against DJ Williams going off the rails again.

They are going to work out some veterans in case the draft does not fall so they take a LB.

We may have value at another position pass on LB and sign Ruud for a year.

Or, we may sign Ruud now and plan draft a developmental LB later in the draft. We all assume that they like one or more of the top LB prospects. Maybe reality is that they don't like any of them. We really have no idea what is smoke what is legit this time of year.

I read Te'o was brought in, I really hope Russell isn't the other one.

I want nothing to do with Te'o. Smokescreen to make Minny jump in front of us? That'd be wicked.

I dont think we have this sort of plan at all, as has nbeen said in some other threads, I think Emery is just building a team entirely without the draft and will draft BPA the whole way....if that includes a developmental LB so be it.
