Only 4.5 back of the wildcard, guys. Hang in there!

Laughing

Rizzo's average will go up, though. He's striking out a lot, but when you make contact eventually things go through. A high BABIP is like getting lucky, a low BABIP is not.

I'm preparing myself for quite a few of these this year. We don't even have the Astros in our division anymore, so it might get a little lonely down in the cellar.

Well the Pirates are bound to dwell in the cellar sooner or later Laughing

I wish that were true, but it isn't. It's been the Astros and the Cubs down there the past 2 years.

Haha. I'm not a fan of that site, anyway. The guy running the show thinks the same way everyone did in the 1970's (i.e. sac bunts are good, etc.) and he gets butt-hurt when people call him out on his faulty logic. The draft talk is pretty solid over there, though.

Ricketts officially made the threat to move out of Wrigley Field if he doesn't get the renovations he wants. Good for him, I doubt it gets to that and I would hate for that to happen, but it's good to see him playing hardball with the Wrigleyville residents.

There's pictures of the proposed renovations on the Tribune's website for those that want to see it.

I saw those this morning, and I came away impressed. The jumbotron looks as natural as a huge screen can possibly look in Wrigley Field. I still think everything gets done with minimal problems.

Wrigleyville has to give in eventually, if the Cubs leave for Rosemont every bar, restaurant, store, etc. would go out of business almost overnight and real estate would plummet. They have no leverage in actuality.

Rizzo's avg sucks, but he's not hit 6 homers thus far. I'm loving this kid.

BABIP of .162. He'll be perfectly fine. He actually has a pretty fun stat line, as his BABIP is LOWER than his actually average, due to the amount of HRs he has. Good stuff.

This is why sample sizes are fun. A little over two weeks later and Rizzo has a triple slash of .262/.348/.557. He still has some room for improvement as well, as his BABIP is only at .284.

And tied for 4th in the league in homers with 9. He's really starting to have a great season. Love this guy.

Remember when the back end of our bullpen was: Marshall - Wood - Marmol (when he was still good)? I'd kill for those guys again right now.
