Lavar is known to have mentored Shawne Merriman. Look at Shawne's website, www.shawnemerriman.com If he leaves Washington, Merriman, Arrington, Edwards, and Foley would make the best LB corps in the NFL. Draft a safety and were looking good next year with a much easier schedule. If you haven't seen Merrimans highlights on his website, check it out. and remember, he would have been a senior at Maryland last year. He's going to get even better....scary!

I don't see Arrington going to the Chargers unless they move Foley or Merriman to ILB.

Foley could definatley play ILB, if Godfrey did indeed retire and we move Foley to ILB and have Arrington at ROLB, that'd be a beast of a linebacker corp.

Realistically, this probably won't happen. Arrington will likely restructure his contract and stay with the skins. Also, even if we did get him, I think he would play inside and Foley and Merriman would remain outside.

Isnt Arrington going to retire if he isnt with the Skins. Chargers dont need that kind of player who isnt there mentally. Arrington has all the talent in the world, but there are a lot of questions if his head is where it should be. But hey, many Lbs' heads arent where they should be, that is why they are a LB. If the Chargers could get the Arrington of college and his first few years in the pros, go for it, if the Chargers get the Arrington the past two years, hell no!....

there is no way arrington will play for the chargers cause we have no where to put him.... he's a natural OBL and the way he plays i dont think that he has the right approch to play MLB.... he goes off on his own way too many times and will too often be caught out of position.... yess he makes big plays but thats only b/c he chases the ball.... i thik the best thing that we can do at mlb is to just plug the hole with steve and merriman until we can find a solid player in FA or through the draft....

As cool as it would sound for you guys to get Arrington, He is not leaving Washington.

You guys will find a solid LB in FA tho

Dont really need one, got bigger concerns, LB is more of a luxury desire.

We do need depth and someone who can start in a year though because as it stands now Godfrey will probably play this year but that will be it and this is the last year of Donnie Edwards' contract and him and the team are struggling to agree to an extension. He's 33 anyway. Also, Stephen Cooper and Matt Wilhelm are free agents from what I understand.

I think we should draft someone in the second round. Maybe Kai Parham (hope he's available). If not, maybe D'Qwell Jackson(we sure hit it big with our last Maryland player) or Abdul Hodge.

Him and Merriman on the same field would be insane.
