Anybody been following the MLS Draft combine? I know the college game gets a lot of flack but I like it. It's a great way for a player who may not be good enough to go pro right away to get a good education and play competetively at the same time. Andrew Farrell is pretty much a lock for first overall. I hate how he wears his shin guards though. I've been impressed with Stefano Pinho, Kekuta Manneh, and James Belshaw as well. _________________

I have to wonder if Toronto is getting a ton of interest in that No. 1 overall pick. With Califf, O'Dea, Henry and Agbossoumonde, they don't really need a center back. _________________

Some news today, Colorado ships Jeff Larentowicz to Chicago for the 11th pick, LA Galaxy permanently sign Juninho and Chivas USA plan to have a team full of Mexican-Americans (can we kick them out already?). _________________

Great news for LA, I'm surprised Juninho couldnt break into the team at Sao Paulo, or maybe he just liked LA? I think he could make it in one of the better Euro leagues _________________

Farrell and Soares would be a beast CB pairing. _________________

New England selects Farrell. As I said before Farrell/Soares is going to be a great pairing. _________________

Yeah, Miller is most likely on his way out.
It's really hard not to like SKC. They got the steal of the draft getting Mikey Lopez at 14. James Belshaw was easily the best keeper in the draft but nobody wanted to use an international roster slot. _________________

Really like what New England, Dallas, Seattle, Columbus and Sporting KC did today.
NE - Farrell was the simple choice, solidifies their backline with Alston - Soares - Farrell - Goncalves and McCarthy and Barnes as the subs. With Cisse as the DM and Nguyen, Rowe, Bengston and a healthy Sene attacking, the Revs could surprise next year. Goalkeeping is still an issue though, if they could somehow swing a deal with Chivas for Dan Kennedy, they'd be more than formidable.
FCD - Zimmerman was a steal at 7, I have no idea why Colorado passed on him after all the reports of them trying to move up to No. 4 to draft him. With John, Ihemelu, Keel, Woodbury and now Zimmerman in the fold, FCD has some serious depth at CB. As for their 2nd rounder, if Hollingshead decides to play pro soccer, they have a high-to-mid 1st round talent at the top of round 2.
SEA - Zavaleta was one of my favorite prospects in this draft. Add in the fact that the Sounders needed help at both forward and CB and Sigi and co. have just filled one of those needs (IDK which one) with Zavaleta, I'd assume they'd try him at CB first. Their 2nd round pick, LB Dylan Remick out of Brown is a player I've seen a couple times, he can absolutely fly down the flank and is a smart player with the ball.
CLB - Adding Ryan Finley to Higuain and Arrieta gives the Crew some real firepower up front. Finley doesn't fill a need per se, but anytime you can get a pure goalscorer, you take it.
SKC - Mikey Lopez at No. 14, are you kidding me? The rich get richer. No idea what TFC was thinking passing on him twice, especially when they dealt away the No. 10 pick. Perfect replacement down the road for Graham Zusi too when he eventually moves to Europe. _________________

Javier Morales tweeted he's resigning at RSL, and Portland are likely to buy out Kris Boyd's contract _________________

Not confirmed but Frank Lampard to @lagalaxy looks very close.Had two separate tips from the UK+Galaxy has definitely spoken to him recently |
Goal.com is also reporting it as a 'done deal'. I don't trust either source, but at this point I'd be more surprised if LA didn't get Lampard. _________________
