Since there was a question that came up (or comment) in the WAYTA thread, I thought it would be fun to find out what odd Table Top Games people play.

Most recently I just bought KrosMaster Arena. The best way to put it is it's like an online battle arena turn based system. It's pretty awesome. I haven't learned all the rules yet, but I've played through at the basic level so that I could at least figure out the interactions with everything.

Smallworld, Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Power Grid, Elder Signs are some other games that I really am enjoying for board games.

Gloom is also an epic game. It's more about the story telling than winning. But with the right group of people, it is hilarious.

Pathfinder. It's an offshoot of Dungeons & Dragons 3.0/3.5 edition.

Love it. Wish I could play more. Currently trying to get a gaming table built for the new house we just moved into.

I bought the Firefly game a few months ago, and just recently got to play a couple of time. Really fun. You don't have to be a fan of the show to enjoy it, but it makes it even better if you do. From what I can tell, the new Firefly Online game is based off of it.

I have played Firefly Game once, I thought it was okay, everyone was learning, and two of the people weren't catching on fast, so we were playing passively, I think if we knew it better and everyone was playing more aggressively, it would be lots more fun.

For 3+ people, i really Killer Bunnies.

For 2 people, one of the oldest and most basic, yet great, Chess.

I'll have to check out some of the others mentioned in this thread. I have game nights infrequently and it's always fun to have new games.

Killer Bunnies is a good one.

Munchkin is loads of fun.

Pandemic is fun and a bit different in that everybody playing the board game (aside from some alt rules) is on the same team.

Last Night on Earth was a lot of fun. Played it with some friends on International Games Day or some such thing.

Monopoly Empires. Think of it as Monopoly Express- you'll only make it around the board 2-3 times before someone wins.

My 8 year old loves it.

I haven't played it with expansions so maybe that's what I'm missing but I'm not a huge fan of Munchkin anymore. The game goes on too long, by the time someones about to win, everyone wastes all their powers and other cards on them so they don't. Then the next guy goes and draws the potted plant and since everyone used up all their stuff on the previous guy, they win without doing anything. It goes down like that almost every single game.

I'm currently playing a 4E campaign via Skype. Currently might not be accurate though since our last session was a TPK and not sure where we're going from there.

That does happen fairly often. Gotta plan for it if you can. Some of the expansions open things up a bit, though. It can make dealing with that a little easier.

I've found that Munchkin is a lot more fun to play with a large group, sure it will take longer, but you don't notice it as much since you can talk to people and drink. But when it's 2-3 people and it takes forever, then it does seem long.
