This is a new show on the CW (and Sky Atlantic HD in the UK) based on the DC comic book hero "Green Arrow"

The first episode was last night and it was pretty cool, but far from perfect...

The CW apparently don't get many big budget shows but this one looks to stretch the accounts thin so far...

I would recommend checking out, because (even though I have never seen it) some have compared it to Smallville which was always very popular IIRC

Arrow is an American action-adventure television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg. It is based on the fictional character Green Arrow, a superhero who appears in comic books published by DC Comics. It premiered in North America on The CW on October 10, 2012,[1] with international broadcasting to take place in late 2012.[2] The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, portrayed by Stephen Amell, who returns home to fight crime and corruption as the vigilante "Arrow" after being stranded on a deserted island for five years. Arrow will also feature appearances by other DC Comics characters. To assist in promotion, a preview comic book was released to tie into the television series.

I'm VERY excite by the bolded...

Here's a trailer as well:

I watched it last night and I liked it a lot.

It seemed to me closer to Batman Begins than Smallville

If you like the comic books or like me just watch the tv shows and the movies then I will test it out.

Here is a link to the show for those that want to test it out

Damn. That is encouraging. The grittiness and naturalism of BB is awesome.

I have to check this out now.

Considering Smallville was so hit or miss, I can't imagine I'd like this show...I started watching Smallville when I was what, 12? 11? At the time it seemed like such a great show. In comparison to many shows, it's really below average despite its high points.

Not saying this can't be good, but I just don't think it'd peak my interests. I watched the last few seasons of Smallville just because I felt I had to after spending so much time on the series. I fear if I invest time in this, I'll feel the same way.

Not really.

From what I read, its only going to be killing people that he has to....not that he is going on a rampage.

I am fine with that. Not sure if Ill ever really watch it, but Id rather him not have the same "code" as Batman.

And you cant really compare this to Smallville in terms of the type of show outside of superhero shows. The tones and characters they are centered around are different. I know Green Arrow was on Smallville, but they are completely different versions.

There wasnt enough supplies for all 3 of them to survive. If he kill himself and the other guy on the boat, his son would have more and a better chance at survival

I'm really enjoying the show so far. I ready though for more info about what happened on the island and for a few more heroes/villians to make their appearances and be more than one episode people.

Liked all 3 episodes. Not a great show, but I like it. And his sister is smoking hot. As is that Laurel chick.
