I am not sure what to think, Hellblazer is my favorite comic series and I just hope this series does it some justice.

The trailer for this show just popped up as an ad when I was streaming music on Youtube. I think the source material is interesting but I didn't really like the lead actor they signed judging from the trailer. I'll probably give it a shot. Unfortunately due to the budget they'll need for all the special effects they'll use they will probably have to get huge ratings to pick the show up. I doubt that will happen so I expect it will be cancelled rather early.

Yeah, the apparent budget makes this need very strong ratings.

I actually enjoyed the movie so I'm going to give this a shot. Twas a very interesting concept.

Neil Marshall + DC Comics = Me watching NBC. Hopefully if this has a strong following they'll put him at the helm of a superhero movie.

It's NBC, so they can't possibly get Constantine quite right. It's not exactly family drama material. People will say, "Look at Hannibal," and I'll say that Hannibal is too mild for what it should be. I don't know, I hope I'm wrong, but I just think that this is a bad fit for NBC.

And am I the only one that liked the Keanu Reeves version? Peter Stormare is probably my second or third favorite performance as Satan of all time.

NBC's Hannibal is far more graphic than any of the films. Mild isn't a word I would use when describing that show. I can't speak for the books because I haven't read them but the series shows some crazy stuff. Then again you obviously haven't watched the show so I guess we can agree to disagree.

Keanu Reeves makes everything better. I think they are just trying to stick to the source material more where Constantine is British and his appearance was based off the singer Sting.

My biggest worries are what I read about what they might do to the supporting characters of Chas and Papa Midnight, plus the female lead in the series.

Not at all, I enjoyed it, too.

Speaking of which, I'm looking forward to this. I liked the film, never read the Hellblazer comics, though.

I don't know a lot about Constantine but does anyone think that Zatara or Zatanna may be introduced?

Or are they going to keep the DC characters away from Vertigo?

DC Comics tv rights are more complicated than Marvel's movie rights

Even if they don't, I know that Guillermo Del Toro wants to make a "Justice League Dark" movie where Constantine goes around recruiting people like Swamp Thing and Zatanna. He said the series had no bearing on his ambition for making the movie.

Hannibal is a sex scene per episode, and 10-15 curse words short of the exact same show it would be on cable. NBC has let them make the show they want w/o interference. I'm not sure where the NBC bad rap comes from. Yes, they killed Heroes, but Heroes really killed itself.

Going to be interesting to see how this does. I think though to allow it go its full potential they have to allow the show be portrayed as it is in other media.

Being featured in a trailer like that? Definitely major appearance.
