| Seantrel Henderson has been excused from practice to attend yet another funeral in Minnesota. There's basically zero chance he'll be ready to play against BC. |

He was dismissed from Miami's football team for an undisclosed rules violation but allowed to keep his scholarship to stay in class and graduate if he chose to. He was expected to transfer to a FCS school but instead hired a lawyer to sue the University for a variety of reasons to try and get him back on the team. While that lawsuit would play out in court, he was seeking a temporary injunction that would force Miami to allow him to practice with the team until a ruling was made. He has now decided not to follow through on any of those legal avenues and is supposed to transfer to a lower level school to be able to play this season. I haven't seen a reason or statement as to why he decided against it, but he probably realized that the chances of him winning were slim and even if he did, no court ruling could force the coaches to play him and it's unlikely they would be so inclined since they had already washed their hands of him. |

Wow. I had no idea. Thank you for the complete explanation. What a shame. Kid is a hell of a talent _________________

Me neither. He's now listed as QB1 on the depth chart, though Golden has not named him the starter for the opener just yet. I'm hoping this means Ryan Williams still has a shot if he outplays Morris in next Saturday's scrimmage.
I believe it was before Friday's practice, Golden mentioned to the media that Williams had completed 78% of his passes thus far in camp. I know it's just camp, but that's still impressive. Morris isn't as accurate and doesn't go through his progressions very well. With Duke and (a much quicker) James, I'd be happier with a QB that gets through his reads and check downs if it's there than a guy that forces the ball downfield. Saw way too much of that with Jacory and Morris seems to have that in him too, unfortunately. |

I read that he said that about Morris
edit: nevermind, that was a typo in the article- it was indeed about Williams _________________

| Morris is way better than Williams and has been though out camp. I doubt Williams does anything at Miami besides holds clipboard unless someone gets injured. |

Hey guys, I'm gonna be following The U this year since that is where I want to go to school next year. Thought I might as well introduce myself.
Anyways, I'm not too familiar with a lot of the team. Who should I look out for? _________________

This guy. I can't wait to see what he can do at the college level. The team is going to be very young this year and probably go through quite a few growing pains. But by the time you're a Sophomore or Junior the hope is that all these guys will have grown up and Miami will be a good team again. Welcome to the family, class of 02, magna est veritas.
Defensively, DE Anthony Chickilo and LB Denzel Perryman (both Sophomores) are fun to watch on defense, both talented with passion and great motors. S Vaughn Telemaque has been around for what seems like ever, he's solid. CB Tracy Howard and S Deon Bush (both true Freshmen) should see a lot of playing time this year, Howard especially since he's currently listed as a starter. CB LaDarius Gunter is a JUCO transfer and has looked really good in camp.
On offense, it looks like Junior Stephen Morris will be the QB. He's played a lot his first two years, showing a strong arm and athleticism, but he struggles with accuracy and making the proper reads. RB Mike James is healthy and looks quicker and faster, he could have a much better year. Allen Hurns is the best returning WR. TE Clive Walford is a physical freak but very inconsistent, if he puts it all together he could be scary. Former #1 overall recruit Seantrel Henderson is pretty much a non factor. He's missed all but two days of camp for various reasons and isn't likely to contribute for awhile, if at all. |

I graduated from the school and and actually worked in the admissions office as student employment while going to school there. I'm also from Northern Virginia as well, so if you have any questions about anything related to the school I'd be happy to try to help you out. It's really a great school and it would be an amazing experience if you end up going there. _________________
