Not gunna lie, kind of wanted murray.

Helu will be decent. If we're planning on LM being oor number one, then this works.

Source: Adding to Adam Caplan report. Roy Helu to #Raiders on a I'm told 2yr deal worth over just $4M.

Don't really know if this will take Oakland out of the running for Murray

Good 3rd down RB to compliment to Murray. Finally looking like Murray's time to shine!

I have to admit I don't know much about him. But if this is the case, then he is a piece. That's how you build a real team. With pieces, that fit. I've been a fan for a long time, but the best team I got to watch of ours was the 2000-2002 group. And that is exactly what they were. No superstars, or not many that I could recall as being hall of famers made in their time in Oakland. But guys who fit well, exceptionally well, into their roles. And if we're referring to skill positions guys like Crockett, Wheatley, Garner, come to mind more than anything. 3rd and 1, Crockett. Up the middle, Wheatley. Change of pace and out of the backfield, Garner. We went up and down the field just working those over and over, side to side, back and forth.

You fill roles well and get guys doing what they do well, and put together a team of pieces who can execute - well it's a better team than laying a load on a star or two. I've been waiting for years to see the Raiders get back to putting guys into bread and butter roles and just working over other teams with those roles again and again. Been waiting for years for a 3rd and 1 guy like Crockett again, or a plow up the middle like Wheatley again, or a backfield scat guy like Garner again.

We've had no identity. Guys playing but without identities. Trying to slap it together. A great disappointment is the fact that weve been unable to find Reece's bread and butter. So let's hope someone like Helu is indiciative that we'll start finding real roles for these guys and fit it together as an offense.

He's a threat to catch the ball. Something Oakland didn't have at RB.

Murray actually looked pretty good as a receiver when he started getting snaps.

Love this signing. Helu is a good COP back and one hell of a receiving RB. He will go great with Murray, and at a great price too.
