Mack- 4 pts/2 Rebs/3 assists/ 1 steal

Crawford- 13 pts/2 rebs/3 assists/1 steal

Sf: Ariza- 13 pts/6 rebs/3 assists/2 steals
Singleton- 5 pts/5 rebs/1 assist/1 steal
Martin- 5 pts/3 rebs/1 assist

Pf: Nene- 14pts/8 rebs/2 assists/1 block
Booker- 8 pts/7 rebs/1 assist/1 steal/1 block
Vesley- 4 pts/4 rebs/1 assist/1 steal/1 block

C: Okafor- 11 pts/10 rebs/1 assist/2 blocks
Seraphin- 8 pts/5 rebs/1 assist/1 block

The team as a whole would average 117 points according to all of their averages. Shocked

I didn't have all the players playing in every game. Guys like Vessley, Martin and Mack might not see a lot of minutes.

Wizards mini camp schedule and roster:

http://mobile.washingtonpost.com/rss.jsp?rssid=578561&item=http://www.washingtonpost.com/Fragment/SysConfig/WebPortal/twpweb/rss/mobile/blog-entry.jpp?id=1001.4.3251575827&cid=-1&fullSiteUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.washingtonpost.com%2Fblogs%2Fwizards-insider%2Fpost%2Fwizards-announce-minicamp-schedule-roster%2F2012%2F07%2F06%2FgJQApLQsSW_blog.html

Quote:
The Wizards’ No. 3 overall selection in the June 28 NBA draft is part of a roster comprising 14 players, including forwards Jan Vesely and Chris Singleton and guard Shelvin Mack. Vesely (sixth overall) and Singleton (18th) were first-round picks in last year’s draft while Mack went in the second round (34th).

Also participating in minicamp will be guard Tomas Satoransky, the Wizards’ second-round pick (32nd overall) last week. Satoransky, 20, is not expected to be with the club this season, but the Wizards retain his rights as he develops in the top-level Spanish ACB.

Wizards minicamp comprises two sessions each day, one in the morning and other in the evening, except for Thursday, when the team will practice for two hours in the early afternoon. Players then will depart for Las Vegas to participate in the NBA summer league opening on Friday.

Doesn't really look like a great roster we have.

If the Wizards didn't have a log-jam at PF, I'd definitely be interested in Dejaun Blair.

Crying or Very sad

Same here, he's one of my most favorite players in the nba. I've always been a huge fan of his, even though he played at Pitt! Twisted Evil

Beal reminds me so much of Eric Gordon, even his stroke is similar. Our backcourt should be sick for as long as he and Wall are together.

I'm really hoping Jan Vesely steps up this year. We've got to get production from a guy who was our #6 pick if we want any chance to rebuild this team. We saw flashes so its up to him to take it to the next level. Some more confidence and a consistent jumper would be great to see.

At the very least, I want to see Vesely knock down baseline 3 pointers. It's important for he and Singleton to be able to knockdown those shots and spread the floor. As the season came to an end, I saw a lot of offensive progression from Singleton.

If Vesely doesn't develop, I can see him being traded.
The Wiz have a lot of average forwards.
I doubt that they can get an elite one, but adding Vesely or Booker to Blatche may be the only way to facilitate a trade of Andray.

However, I expect them to use the amnesty clause to rid themselves of that $23M contract.

That'd be awesome if Vessley can do that. Well have to pay attention to summer league to see how he's improved.

As for Blatache, I think they are going to amnesty him as well, the buzz today has been they are to do it.

http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2012/07/wizards-considering-using-amnesty-on-blatche.html

Quote:
Given Washington's cap situation, it would be a little surprising if the team used the amnesty provision on Blatche this summer. With over $60MM in guaranteed salaries, the Wizards would clear a little over $7MM off their books by amnestying Blatche, which probably wouldn't result in enough cap space to be useful. However, according to Stein (via Twitter), if the Wizards don't find a trade partner for Blatche, they'll likely either amnesty him or pay him to stay home.

Vesley let's the jumpers fly during mini-camp, check out the video:

http://www.truthaboutit.net/2012/07/jan-vesely-lets-it-fly-washington-wizards-summer-mini-camp-day-1.html

Quote:
The Wizards sent developmental coach Joe Connelly to the Czech Republic earlier this summer to work with Jan. On Monday Connelly rebounded while Vesely and fellow countryman Tomas Satoransky shot around during the media access portion on day one of Wizards summer mini-camp. Some shots looked good going in, some didn’t.

“I saw confidence, which I saw at the end of the year,” said head coach Randy Wittman about Vesely’s first day back. Well, not really his first day. He has been back in Washington since late June.

.“I can say I worked a lot last month on that, and I work every day on outside shot. So I feel pretty good, and I’ll work a lot until the beginning of the season.”

The video above, albeit simply practice shots, shows progress. Vesely succeeds when he stays square, limits lateral movement and holds his follow-through. He gets nice arc on his shot and has a decent release point.

He looks pretty damn good in the video especially running to a spot and shooting. I like it! Cool

http://blogsohardsports.com/wizards-2/bradley-beal-wizards-debut-today/

Quote:
The Washington Wizards get their first action of the Vegas Summer League today, as they play the Atlanta Hawks summer team at 4:00 PM (EST) at the Thomas & Mack center.

Tune in to see our boy make his debut at 4!

Other Things to look for:

1. Chris Singleton – Will he be able to work in the flow of the offense this year? Will he be able to shut down people on the defensive end?

Last year he struggled to do these things, which of he's going to be a starter we need to see him do on a regular basis.

2. Shelvin Mack – Will Shelvin show he can efficiently run the offense? Will he be able to consistently knock down mid-range and outside jumpers?

Obviously if he's going to develop into a back up to Wall we need to see him run the offense better than he did last year and he has to consistently hit outside shots. These are two things I know he can do and I hope we see it.

3. Jan Vesely – Can this guy actually contribute on offense outside of dunks and put backs?

From the mini camp videos I've posted and seen, Vesley has developed a pretty reliable outside shot. Let's hope we see him hit some outside jumpers. Definitely something to look out for.

4. Tomas Satoransky – Who is he? What can he do? Does he have any hopes of being an impact player in the nba win more development?

I really am intreagued about him and want to watch him play.

I won't be able to see it, but I'm sure a replay will be available on Comcast.

Singleton looking pretty bad on offense. He has had the ball twice and he travled one and double dribbled the second time.
