Guys this trade is gonna help the vikings more than it hurts them. Look N. harris' numbers in 2003. 2004 he had a bad year because the Raiders went to a 3-4 defense. In Minnesota we use the 4-3 defense so he will do much better than last year. Burleson did good when moss was injured and he should do just as good if not better with him gone. Vikings have 34 million dollers in cap and there are a lot of good FA Wr.
The fact is that Randy was too much of a distraction and I really questioned his motivation and desire in games. IF we can land Rolle or DJ with that 7th overall pick then it will NO DOUBT of been worth it. If the vikings make the right moves then next year we WILL win division. |

It ticks me off because I'm a Lions fan. If the Vikings are getting better then why should I be happy? I don't cheer for them. |

Well at least you can recognize that we are trying to improve.
Although I see the Lions doing well this year. |

don't be so sure the trade goes thru - how are the Raiders going to
a) get under the cap for this trade? they are currently $11.75 mil over
b) have any cash left over for a running game?
I wouldn't be surprised to see another team get involved before March 2nd with a better package for the Vikings and room to assume Moss' huge cap hit - this trade just doesn't make sense for either team |

CowboyChris,
Teams can find a way to make the caps fit. I have already heard that Oakland can make this deal happen pretty easily. I would not be surprised either. I think the deal makes alot of sense though. |

And that's why I really am unsure about this trade. The NFL's biggest threat at WR in the history of the game.....and with the cap space you can sign a FA and draft a nightmare in Williams or Edwards.
I really dislike the Vikings a bit more after thinking about it again. Thank you for reminding me. |

LOL, glad I could be of help.
Now that you think about it. We could sign a cheaper receiver in FA, like Coles(or whoever). Thus saving room in cap space still (as opposed to moss), and drafting two defensive players in the first round. There are alot of options open I believe. |

Personally thats what I hope they do. Sign a FA wr..... Draft Rolle or DJ with the 7th pick, a DT with the 18th, a Saftey with the 2nd pick and TRY and trade Bennet or one of our RB for another 2nd round pick and get Nugent the kicker from Ohio State.
But then agian.............THATS just me........ |

Lots of great ideas in that post Big Rich. I wouldn't mind getting rid of a RB, for a pick. We have 3 good ones. IMO. |

Packer Fan here.
I like the trade. You guys get 2 relatively high first round picks meaning you should go heavy defense. Mike Williams and Braylon Edwards are hard to resist, but do the Queens really need to waste a pick on a receiver? Jesus, with Culpepper at the helm, you only need average receivers to succeed. Pick up Derrick Mason for sure.
You guys draft right on defense, the Queens are instant NFC Champions.
Here's to hoping Minnesota drafts two receivers in the first round!!! |
